Leftist? Yeah, but Richard Stallman et. al. produced the best programming editor in the world: Emacs.
“Just keep in mind a lot of this free software is backed by radical leftists”
Radical leftists and F500 corps both present a threat to a free America.
Whose imposing political correctness on the average Joe?
Big corporations.
Let’s use the product of the leftist to further our own agenda.
Awwwww.... Hey M$... How’s VISTA retail doing ?? LOL
Open office is useless crap.
It is free and you definately get what you pay for.
Open source software is a joke.
It’s free and worth every penny.
Yah, thought about all that stuff before installing Linux, but so far no compulsory popup ads featuring an all expenses paid trip to the Gulag came up to click on, so I suppose Ubuntu is still safe after only two days of using it ..........
No way I'm spending $400.
Not good.. Vista is ripoff priced, you got to be a fool to upgrade an existing pc from xp...
Can you give me any evidence at all that you have to buy a new copy to reinstall Office?
The worst thing that you would have to do is call for reauthorization.
Thankfully all of us aren't that easily bribed.
I couldn't believe how easy everything was to set up ... Ubuntu installed flawlessly, recognized and configured (most) of the hardware, has plug-n-play capability, and installing software apps not within the original .iso file was a snap to download and install. The only difficulty was inputting the WEP code to get my wireless network going, it didn't work at first .. so a little bit of internet research showed that it needed to have the word 'reserved' typed just before the WEP code. Kinda strange and arcane, but it worked like a charm after that .... been using Ubuntu on WiFi ever since, and doing so right now :)
Well if destroying US corporations is your intent you should be happy open source like Linux has not only done that to several but working on more every day.
I’m working on getting used to the differences in Office 2007 (home ‘puter). I’m still not sure where to find all of the editing stuff!!!
It looks good, though!
OK OK OK ... someone has an agenda in this thread. Thank goodness it isn’t me.
“Well if destroying US corporations is your intent you should be happy...”
And Microsoft hasn’t done that????
I am going to the dark side....
Screw microsoft....
Apple....
Some people just have too much money, apparently, and are in a hurry to give it to Microsoft.
OpenOffice.org works fine for me.
