I really don’t think they were intentionally CHEATING.

If it were anybody but Gordon or Johnson, I would agree with you.

The fact that Gordon and Johnson have pretty much had some of the best COT cars bar none , and that Hendrick Motorsports has a history of cheating - those two things right there are pretty damning. Keep in mind I'm not saying they are cheating on the COT cars, I'm saying that because they have had the best this season, they obviously know the COT inside and out. It doesn't help that the other two cars were fine....

I didn't go for Crash either for the same reasons.

I just mentioned to someone else on another site that I wish Nascar would take their COT and stick it somewhere. :)

This I can agree with you on. The COT was a solution in search of a problem that didn't exist or that could have been remedied within the current cars, and it is NASCAR wanting to turn it into IROC with cookie-cutter cars.

I won’t guarantee that I’ll make it through either; the fact I’m here instead of at the track ought to tell you something.

Through 17 of 50 drivers that are eligible to qualify (Jeff Gordon will start 41st and Jimmie Johnson will start 42nd as they are not allowed to qualify:

Robby Gordon - 92.399 mph
Boris Said - 92.312 (must make it on time)
Bobby Labonte 91.753
Kurt Busch - 91.744
Carl Edwards 91.698
Martin Truex Jr - 91.388
Kyle Busch - 91.223
Terry Labonte - 91.222 (is in via at least past-champ’s provisional, team would otherwise must make it on time)
Regan Smith - 91.149
Reed Sorenson - 91.065
Johnny Sauter - 90.842
Ward Burton - 90.813 (must make it on time)
Brandon Ash - 90.477 (must make it on time)
Brian Vickers - 90.287 (must make it on time)
AJ Allmendinger - 91.147 (must make it on time)
Brian Simo - 90.048 (must make it on time)
David Stremme - 84.147

If Chip Ganassi could figure out the COT, it would have been smart to take JPM. Robby Gordon, Stewart, and Jeff Gordon were safe bets considering their road performance over the last five or six years (I wouldn't even count out Jeff, as long as Johnson doesn't wreck him by accident, Jeff could sit back and let the big wreck or two happen at the beginning and then work his way up)..

Said, Labonte, and JPM would be safe bets if they had a decent ride under them (although I won't count out Labonte - he's got plenty of tricks up his sleeve like a lot of those older drivers do, and Montoya does things with race cars on road courses that are amazing).

Awesome Bill from Dawsonville 3rd-fastest of 22 and the fastest of 9 field-fillers with a 92.203. That puts him in the show on time.

Check last; lost count of the field-fillers (that’ll teach me to do this with the laptop from the living room), and Elliott is only 2nd-fastest of the 9 field-fillers that took time so far. No field-fillers are in on time yet.

Happy 8th-fastest of 23 with a 91.309

Loved the comments from the peanut gallery...

"Gave both front tires some air time..."

"What was the hang time?"

lol

Is it the driver or the chassis? That car looked nothing like Crash's.

Continuing the qualifying, The Other Kyle 11th of 28 with a 91.265. Simo will see-no-mo of the track this weekend as well (was bumped earlier).
