Infineon Raceway is one of the premier road racing venues in the country, and one of the few on the NASCAR Winston Cup Series circuit. The facility first opened in 1968 and serves as the gateway to the beautiful and scenic Sonoma Valley, which serves as one of the top wine-producing regions in the world.

I like his perspective which is from a drivers point of view rather than announcer stuff.

I wonder which one of those Ice Road Truckers was my BiL. He got injured and is on disability in Fairbanks at this time...

I like Kyle P and Larry McR more everytime I hear them... they always outshine the “pro” announcers. So did Neil and Ned.

At least they were coming from the right direction. The drive from the south is brutal on race day.

Petty is a much more polished announcer than I had initially thought he would be when I heard he would be going into the booth this year. He speaks well, he has a great knowledge of the sport. I hated that we don't have Benny but I think Kyle would be a good color commentator, better than %95 of the announcers now.

am I the only one who keeps expecting Robby Gordon to wreck himself or somebody else?

He'd have to wreck himself, nobody's within 50 yards of him....
Flash goes by JPM, up to 9th....

Steve and TonyG commented on JPM all over our a$$ but Jr said nothing back. LOL
That's because Jr remembers when drivers were a lot more aggressive. A lot is made of Jr, but I don't think Tony Stewart gets enough credit for reminding some of us old folks of the way it used to be. Drivers used to race for every position, now they are content with midfield.
I get tired of these namby-pamby drivers that are happy with 10th or 15th or 20th place. They find a spot on the track and they are content - they don't care if they move up a few spots. Dale Earnhardt Sr. - there was a reason why he was called the Intimidator - I didn't care for him, but I liked that if he was 20th and had 5 laps to go, he was going to try and pick up 18th or 19th.
Then again, the kind of money NASCAR drivers are making these days, I could settle for a mediocre position in the race and laugh all the way to the bank.
