I'd be amazed if the Democrats didn't sit on every judicial nomination that they could for the rest of Bush's term. They think that they're going to win in 2008 and why fill lifetime seats with the opposing party's people? That's what the GOP did at the end of Clinton's administration, and is how the game is played now.
I think this “blackballing” should also apply to Presidential candidates. Clinton was mentored by Fulbright (Arkansas racist), and Bill never did much for Blacks but put way more of them in prison.
