In fact when the DA said publicly those boys were “innocent”, those 88 Duke hatemongers became INSTANTLY civilly liable for slander and defamation for everything they said and wrote.
I would have loved to take that case.
The standard jury instructions would have destroyed them.
In fact I bet there is a criminal statute about false criminal accusations made in public.

There are unnecessary litigation issues to consider.
If Duke was willing to give them everything they were asking then there is no lawsuit to be had.
If they said we want X millions and duke said we will give you x.1 million, it is silly to take it to the judge.

American white males are constantly given messages that they are the enemy. If a woman does what a man does... it’s so much more wonderful, and should be recognized. In school rooms girls are encouraged and fawned over, boys are medicated. Role models on tv... most men aren’t positive role models, most women are.
Our PC culture is trying to create a generation of neutered, incompetent white men. It appears to be working.
I have watched as much of her show as I can stomach, this week. I thought she might acknowledge that the Duke lacrosse team didn’t do anything.
Then again, some former prosecutor said that they were found “not guilty, which is different than innocent.” I was waiting for the host or other panel memeber to point out the facts, but it didn’t happen.

I completely agree. However, I hope that they sue Nifong and the DAs office for millions. First, they need to recoup their legal fees. Second, a serious price must be paid for this gross miscarriage of justice.
The woman didn't come up with the "broomstick" idea on her own. I can't help but think that somebody showed her a lacrosse stick and she called it a broomstick.
Be interesting if the Duke agreement protects the woman, her friends and Nifong as well.
It is interesting how these judgmental, hyperventilating, sweaty, arrogant and ignorant 88 ran out screaming, “Witches! Witches!”

I would suggest taking the settlement money out of their paychecks.
