“But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow.”—Lennon
And we’re screaming for more rope.
I thought that was Kruschev.
Poison dogfood, toothpast, toys, all from China. I have a feeling that the USA and China are in an economic war and the USA is pulling all the stops to show Chinese products in a bad light. Also I noticed that the Russians had some computer problems with that space station with USA computers. Am I the only one noticing this?
Poisoning of America by American companies has a long history. That's why FDA was invented.
Uranium-coloured Fiestaware is my favorite. Or idea to use Depleted uranium to make ovens and household items (hopefully never realized). I am sure that an average American would never buy crappy and shoddy merchadise under Chinese trade names.
But back in ole GreatWall mart, with all this garbage gets familiar American household names and passport to our homes.
It is not red Chairman Hu Jintao who is poisoning America, but chairmans of the boards of the most distinguished blue chip companies. Who stole American jobs and gave us garbage in return.
True, to a point. It’s the American consumers demand for CHEAP crap that drives the corporations to go to dungholes like china.
It’s damn near impossible to find much of anything not Hecho in China.
I’ve been looking for camping gear for my Scout Troop and just about everything I’ve seen/found is made in china. It’s been pi**ing me off for years.

There’s plenty of blame to go around. American companies went to the worst possible place in the world to maximize profit at minimal cost. Profit at minimal cost is good business but the lack of ethics is disgusting and treasonous considering the fact that China is screwing us with their share of the profits.
China is doing what communists have always done. Enslaving the majority while a few at the top become wealthy. They’re building their military, buying influence, and working against us all with our money. The most disgusting part is the complicity of Americans in all of it.

I don’t know specifically what you are looking for.
But here is a good starting point.

I think you have this quote backwards. Lenin would have seen the capitalists as the ones doing the selling, so the quote should be:
"The capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
Unfortunately, even this quote, which everyone repeats, is not what Lenin actually said.
I thought it was a paraphrase or summmary, something like the "First we will take Eastern Europe, then the masses of Asia", etc., that was also commonly repeated back in the day.
I didn’t read your list closely, but the recall notice I had said these were trains made from 2005 on. Just wanted to make sure people know this. I have literally more than a hundred of these trains, but we bought them all before 2005. Are they no longer made by Learning Curve?
OK, duh, it has the date in the article.
I found this out trying to get a simple manual can opener from Wally World. On two separate occasions, I bought manual can openers of the supposedly better quality from the housewares section. (Should have gone to S-Mart, I guess!) But opening a can with these things was a study in trial and error, trying to get the cutter to bite into the lid, which was iffy, and then getting the gear to actually turn the can without assuming a special mouth position. Usually, I would have to disengage and reset the tool 3-5 times for a can of tuna (Sorry, Charlie!) and at the end, the opener would still leave the lid hanging from a tab of uncut metal that I would have to break manually with metal fatigue.
Neither of these were of the cheap, bare essentials category; they were a nationally-recognized brand. But they were made in <guess where>. And in the wake of all these food scandals, I got the idea that if QC caused a problem in one area, why not check the possible effects in a different one?
So last month, we went to a local restaurant supply store and found a similar can opener for a slightly higher price than WW had charged for theirs.
Surprise! This one works. It actually cuts through the can lid all the way around with an ease that makes me wonder how I put up with the other ones for so long. The Mrs. no longer has to call me to open Charlie's can (she's got diabetes AND "Arthur").
It's made in USA, of course. Its two predecessors are now part of the landscape, and I am determined not to get caught that way again.
In my book this is equivalent to counterfeit goods, with the difference that the counterfeiter is the nationally recognized brand making the profit, not some shady characters.
A friend of mine told me fascinating story. He visited furniture trade show in China last year and met the rep of Italian manufacturer who came to buy knock off versions of their OWN designs. It was cheaper for him that way then to organize the actual manufacturing himself.
Almost all iconic "Eames" reclining chairs are made in China, but not all of them are labelled as such.
This is untold story - shoddy stuff made in china and labelled as made elsewhere.
” Only 45 percent of China has any sewage-treatment facilities, putting the country behind the rest of Asia.”
Socialism damages or destroys every society it infects. I hate socialists.
? Why didn’t you return them and get your money back? Wall Mart will take back pretty much anything, no questions asked. If they received back every single one of those cr@ppy Chinese can openers that they sold you better believe they would quit buying them from China, or at least from that supplier. Honestly, it couldn’t have bothered you too much if you were too lazy to return them.
PS I quit shopping at Wall Mart when they
started swiping drivers licenses at checkout for beer purchases. Too much like big brother for me, so no, I am not a Wall Mart supporter.
An observation which might be helpful: I have so much trouble understanding my own motives that I don't need to blame laziness for my not wishing to judge the motives of others. It's a hopeless job. Even if you happen to get it right, you still got bubkes.
To the case in point, the items were purchased by another member of the family, on two separate occasions, over a year apart, and at least a year in the past, if not more. When I got involved, I did look at the WW offerings, but decided not to go that route meself.
Lots of stuff to replace worn out Troop equipment.
Thanks, will check them out.
Cheers,
SZ
