Mexico has not had good government since it declared independence from Spain. The class that owns the country refuses to invest, refuses to share. What ought to be the richest country south of our border is not. They squander everything.

Oh, please. The reluctance to assimilate stems from post-modernism’s diktat that all cultures are equal, so why should they take on ours? Of course, it’s nuts. But it isn’t some evil communist puppet master plotting your doom.

Many years ago (lol) I went to a boarding school where the rich Mexicans sent their daughters. The sole purpose was to make them learn English. They were not allowed to room with other Mexicans, they were put into rooms with American girls. I had a Latino roomate every year and by the end of each school year those girls knew how to converse in English.
It was amazing how quickly it was picked up when it was mandatory for them to only speak English.
