American Blacks and Hispanics Opposed to Bush-Kennedy Amnesty Bill Speak Out
PR Newswire ^ | June 19, 2007

Posted on 06/19/2007 10:04:17 AM PDT by 3AngelaD

WASHINGTON, June 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Those hit hardest by the effects of massive illegal immigration, particularly in major urban areas, are often American black and Hispanic citizens. Their voices are being muted in the current Senate debate by powerful business influences demanding cheap foreign labor and special interests representing illegal aliens.

The two leading black and Hispanic advocacy organizations for immigration reform will hold a joint news conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday June 19, to put a human face on the victims of illegal immigration and the proposed amnesty. "More often than not, the faces of those most directly harmed by mass illegal immigration are brown or black," stated retired Col. Al Rodriguez, chairman of You Don't Speak for Me, a coalition of American Hispanics opposed to the illegal alien amnesty. "Millions of hard-working American Hispanics are victimized by illegal immigration when resources are diverted from their cildren's education to make room for the children of illegal aliens, and every time they look for work only to find that the job has gone to an illegal alien."

"For centuries, American blacks struggled first for emancipation and then for their full rights and opportunities as citizens," stated Ted Hayes, chairmen of Choose Black America, the leading black organization fighting against amnesty. "Illegal immigration and the proposed amnesty threaten to undo that struggle in the space of one generation. Before George Bush and a handful of legislators in Washington sign away our children's future, we demand a seat at the table to have our voices heard."

These folks held a press conference today at the National Press Club and as near as I can tell, so far, none of the press covered it.

George W. Bush, Ted Kennedy, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and company are the real bigots.

When the press ignores a press conference at the National Press Club, it reveals even more stakly their twisted political agenda.

Especially those who mow their own lawns, do not live in gated communities, send their kids to public school, and who do not work in the white collar sector.

True. I wish people would get that straight. This is not about race or color. It’s about destroying the greatest country in the world. I hope the people responsible for this will not only be held accountable; but punished as well.

They can speak out but no one will hear them.

Kind of how the press treats republicans.

How safe are those in the gated communities if the servants they hire and the people who deliver their goods are able to gain access, become familiar with the routines/security or even are the security? Just how much faith would you have in some rent-a-guard being able to protect you from the unwashed, the criminal or the terrorist? I have seen the security at many 5 star international resorts and they do not engender all that much confidence, given the people with keys to the suites, cars and access to the security infrastructure could have both motive and opportunity if they wished to enrich themselves or wreak havoc in some manner.

Personally, the last thing I would want is an employee who speaks a language I do not understand, who comes from a culture I do not understand and who could have incentive to do me and mine great harm. A middle class residence in a rural area seems to me to be less likely to attract envy or resentment than some mansion in a gated community.

I completely agree with their assessment "Illegal immigration and the proposed amnesty threaten to undo that struggle in the space of one generation. Before George Bush and a handful of legislators in Washington sign away our children's future, we demand a seat at the table to have our voices heard."

They are right to speak up and good for them that they recognize the handwriting on the wall. Now it is time for them to call Jessie Jackson and the ACLU and all the usual sources that "take care" of them. Good luck with that.

i understand why republicans are outraged over this fiasco, but the libs should be also. (Except they want 12 million new voters.)
Dick Morris said, dems want them to vote but not work
republicans want them to work and not vote (or feed off the gov trough).
Not too far off.

Senate Proposal is Full of Holes Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has been a stalwart proponent of curbing illegal immigration and reforming the legal immigration apparatus in a truly meaningful manner. To that end, on June 4, in the middle of the first round of floor debate on the so-called “grand bargain” immigration bill, Sen. Sessions issued a press releaselisting egregious loopholes in the proposal, including “flaws effecting border security, chain-migration and assimilation policies.” In prefacing the list, Sen. Sessions indicated that he is “deeply concerned about the numerous loopholes found in this legislation,” which he sees as “more than technical errors, but rather symptoms of a fundamentally flawed piece of legislation that stands no chance of actually fixing our broken immigration system.” Furthermore, Sen. Sessions said, “Many of the loopholes are indicative of a desire not to have the system work.”

Flaw No. 1: Sen. Sessions pointed to perhaps the biggest flaw by noting that the “ ‘enforcement trigger’ fails to require the U.S. VISIT system – the biometric border check-in/check-out system established by Congress in 1996, but never implemented – to be fully functioning before new worker or amnesty programs begin. Without the system in place, the U.S. has no method of ensuring that workers and their families do not overstay their visas.”

Flaw No. 2: While most Americans tell pollsters they want less immigration, this bill dramatically increases overall immigration. It TRIPLES chain migration through the year 2016 – all the while sanctioning a mass importation of low-skill foreign workers and, by extension, a mass importation of poverty into this country.

Flaw No. 3: Illegal aliens get “legal status before enforcement” begins;

Flaw No. 4: The “triggers” require “no more agents, beds, or fencing than current law” mandates;

Flaw No. 5: The completion of background checks, including checks against criminal and terrorist databases, is “not required for” the granting of amnesty (in this bill, it is referred to as “probationary status”);

Flaw No. 6: Criminals of all kinds – including gang members, some child molesters, and absconders (i.e., “aliens who have already had their day in court [and who are now] subject to…removal” [covering “more than 636,000 fugitives”]) are eligible for the bill’s mass amnesty;

Flaw No. 7: “Illegal aliens with terrorism connections are not barred from getting amnesty. An illegal alien seeking most immigration benefits must merely show ‘good moral character.’”

Flaw No. 8: Illegal aliens granted amnesty or guestworkers imported via the new “Y” “temporary worker” program can claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, which “will cost taxpayers billions in just 10 years”;

Flaw No. 9: “Affidavits from friends” are acceptable as evidence of satisfying requirements for amnesty, thus “invit[ing] fraud and more illegal immigration”;

Flaw No. 10: “In-state tuition and other higher education benefits…will be made available to current illegal aliens that are granted [amnesty], even if the same instate tuition rates are not offered to all U.S. citizens,” a violation of current Federal law, which “mandates that educational institutions give citizens the same postsecondary education benefits they offer to illegal aliens”;

Flaw No. 11: New visas are created for individuals who are prone to overstaying their period of authorized admission – namely, the new “parent” visa, which allows parents of citizens, and the spouses and children of new temporary workers, to visit a worker in the United States. Not only is this term “a misnomer, but also an invitation for high rates of visa overstays” because it “specifically allows the spouse and children of new temporary workers who intend to abandon their residence in a foreign country, to qualify to come to the U.S. to ‘visit.’” To obtain the visa, one must only post a $1,000 bond, “which will be forfeited when, not if, family members of new temporary workers decide to overstay their 30 day visit. Workers should travel to their home countries to visit their families, not the other way around”;

Flaw No. 12: To be granted amnesty, illegal aliens need not pay back income taxes;

Flaw No. 13: Social Security credits for work done while in the United States illegally will be granted to “[a]liens who came to the U.S. on legal visas, but overstayed their visas and have been working in the U.S. for years, as well as illegal aliens who apply for Z visa status but do not qualify”; and

Flaw No. 14: “The criminal fines an illegal alien is required to pay to receive amnesty are less than the bill’s criminal fines for paperwork violations committed by U.S. citizens, and can be paid by installment,” which means that “the fine for illegally entering, using false documents to work, [is] one-tenth the fine for a paperwork violation committed by a government official.”

We must make them hear our voice. The best way is with the ballot. We need a new political party. One that speaks to Americans and not the globalist who think they run things.
We have been abandoned by the Republicans who have been bought off by big business who seek cheap labor. The Democrats are now seeing the evil they spawned. Their Black base is taking it on the chin —others will follow. Even legal Latinos are waking up to the danger of a new peasant class streaming over the boarder. We need to take over an existing party, or start a new one, dedicated to saving the Republic. Only a mass desertion of Republicans will cause the GOP to think twice. We need a new TV network—a real Right Wing Cable News network to show the news others will not. FOX News has betrayed us and gone more centerist (look at Bill O Blovation to see how far Fox has fallen). I will coin an new term here and now—The New Right. We must bring America back to her greatness before it’s too late. It’s that or accept the rule of International Capitalists and the one worlders. We have no choice—as loyal Americans we will not go peacefully into the night. Our ancestors would look back upon us from their graves with scorn if we sell out our birthright for cheaper lawn mower pilots and lettice. We may well be powerless in the face of the present MSM but, we are a new force and one motivated by patriotic love of country and not greed. Raise the rattlesnake flag and let the nabobs of the old order know—they will not win without a fight.

Thought you’d like to know, it was reported on Lou Dobbs this evening, first half of his program. There’s always a show transcript later in the evening - the program re-broadcasts later at night IIRC.

It doesn’t matter whether security services actually provide what they purport to. My point is that people who live in such places are more inclined to support mass immigration, given that it is from that policy that they draw their servants.
