Fox, CBS Ban Pig 'Condom' Ad

The Fox and CBS networks have both declined to air an ad for Trojan condoms that features cellphone-carrying pigs on the prowl.

The ad depicts women in a bar surrounded by cellphone-toting pigs. One of the swine heads off to the men’s room where it obtains a condom from a vending machine — and "is transformed into a head-turner in his 20s,” The New York Times reports. "When he returns to the bar, a fetching blonde who had been indifferent now smiles at him invitingly.”

The commercial is part of a new ad campaign by Trojan called "evolve.” The message: "Evolve. Use a condom every time.”

In rejecting the ad, Fox sent a written response to Trojan that read: "Contraceptive advertising must stress health-related uses rather than the prevention of pregnancy.”

CBS wrote that it did not find the ad "appropriate for our network even with late-night-only restrictions.”

The commercial will air on ABC, NBC, and nine cable networks, as well as in magazines and on Web sites.

They should just redo the commercial so when the pig gets a condom and transforms into a guy the woman gets a headache and has to leave.

I guess CBS didn’t take Dan Rather’s advice to “tart it up a bit”.

SeeBS will refuse this ad, yet air that show with Charlie Sheen with far worse content than the commercial in question...what a network! And Fox...oy vey! The crap they put on, and then refuse this ad...they’re worse than SeeBS.

I believe that’s called “drinking for free”.

I’ll bet my house that those networks would happily run back to back Valtrex or impotency ads. I can’t watch a darn thing without having to see one of those stupid (and, in the case of Valtrex, disgusting) commercials.

There's some measure of reassurance in knowning that at least Fox and CBS have retained some sense of decorum.

Have they? Or is it only selective decorum? They don't seem to have any problem showing sex scene after sex scene after sex scene on Temptation Island or The O.C.

And, say what you want about the Girls Gone Wild videos every affiliate seems to advertise, at least they don't mention condoms.

I don't get why there's selective self-censorship here, when these smut peddlers do so little elsewhere.

When I saw the ad, my first reaction was that the muslims weren’t going to like it.

Yeah. I understand that they are down on condoms.

Incredible how low we’ve sunk as a society. At least CBS could have claimed it was truth-in-advertising.

I was so afraid after the jump I was going to read they were afraid of offending Muslims. Good to hear it’s just old-fashioned American prudishness.

How's this:

An ad depicts men in a bar surrounded by cellphone-toting piglets. One of the piglets heads off to the women’s room where it obtains a condom from a vending machine

When she returns to the bar, the guy who had been trying to employ the "beer goggles" tactic to choose a suitable floozy from among the bevy of barhogs sucking on Marlboros and longnecks, now figures "what the hell, one or two more beers and she'll pass the 'minimum acceptable standards at closing time' test. Besides, she brought her own rubber."

Remember - Use a condom every time you hook up with a pig.

So, does your daughter go to bars to get boinked? How proud you must be. A slut is just that, a slut. Why would you condone her behavior? You can't call Clinton a male whore and excuse the sluts he fornicated with. Was Monica innocent?

This is a condom comercial. If the girl had any virtue, she would have slapped the guy that got the rubber instead of smiling at him.

So, all women in bars who smile at men are sluts & whores? Are you married? Care to guess wht my next comment may be?
