Ron Paul: "No Amnesty, No Welfare for Illegal Aliens"
Tue, 06/19/2007 - 10:57 — admin

June 18, 2007 -- ARLINGTON, VA – The Ron Paul campaign issued the following statement:

"As a congressman, Ron Paul has been a leader in the fight to end illegal immigration. He voted for a border fence, opposes the current Senate "compromise" bill, and introduced legislation to end birth-right citizenship. Dr. Paul has consistently warned Americans about the looming menace of the North American Union and is the only presidential candidate calling for an end to welfare benefits, mandatory medical care and free education for illegal aliens.

"No leader in Washington has fought to end illegal immigration harder than Congressman Ron Paul," said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Dr. Paul knows that America must never grant amnesty to those who are in our country illegally."

The following are statements Dr. Paul has made in the U.S. House of Representatives:

-- "The much-vaunted Senate 'compromise' on immigration is a compromise alright: a compromise of our laws, a compromise of our sovereignty, and a compromise of the Second Amendment. That anyone in Washington believes this is a credible approach to solving our immigration crisis suggests just how out of touch our political elites really are."

-- "If we reward millions who came here illegally, surely millions more will follow suit. Ten years from now we will be in the same position, with a whole new generation of lawbreakers seeking amnesty."

-- "...real national security cannot be achieved unless and until our borders are physically secured. It's as simple as that. All the talk about fighting terror and making America safer is meaningless without border security. It makes no sense to seek terrorists abroad if our own front door is left unlocked."

And “no earned income” credit — paying them 10% of their wages as a tax refund is nuts.

As you wrote it, your post is correct. Ron Paul isn't giving aid and comfort to the enemy; I'm glad you've finally admitted as much. Thank you.

I tend to agree with what he says on this and other issues - he is a doctor who tells you what you need to know, not what you want to hear.

Unfortunately, even if we were to get a president who was against all that, it will be too late by the time the next election comes around. The damage will have been done already.

Oh, I'm sorry, but now you're lying.

Ron Paul voted FOR the September 18, 2001 Resolution "That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons."

But of course you knew that, you're just being dishonest.

Lying? NO.

He gives aid and comfort to the enemy NOW. he may have voted for the 9/18 resolution, but has since gone over to the dark side.

Sorry, but that's also false.

If Ron Paul was truly anti-terrorist he would be in favor of going after them where they live. Not waiting for them to come here and attack us.

There is a lot about Paul that I have always admired, but he wants us to stick our collective heads in the sand and in this modern world we can no longer do that. We have to be aggressive not passive or we are not going to survive.

Ron Paul DID vote for "going after Terrorists where they live" when he voted for the September 18, 2001 Resolution "That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001..."

What Ron Paul opposes, is giving Military and Financial support to an Islamic-Theocratic thug regime in Iraq which knowingly and willfully HARBORS TERRORISTS -- in their own Ruling Coalition!

Or doesn't blowing up a US Embassy in Kuwait and killing 241 US Marines in Beirut qualify these scumbags as "Terrorists" in your mind?

Of course, but now he’s taking a principled stand by voting against war funding bills that equip, train, and support our troops in the field. Is that it?

Since the Islamic-Theocratic thug regime in Iraq is knowingly and willfully HARBORING TERRORISTS, Ron Paul believes that we should withdraw our troops from supporting them.

He may be getting my vote because of his tough illegal immigration stand.
