I like both Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter. The two together would be my dream ticket.
The rejuvenation of Reaganism that has been losing sway since the Gipper retired is CRITICAL to our future.
So your dream ticket is Hunter - Thompson. A very Gonzo choice, to be sure.
Did you make that banner?
Thompson - Hunter would work as well. But after two terms of GWB, either would make me giddy!
Yes. Graphics aren’t my strength, so I had to make it simple. I really wanted to convert a WW2 propaganda poster over. But it really looked sloppy when I tried.
Speaking of making posters, Sam, can you get more pictures of your father on the Net? The pickings are really slim out there for making election material, virtual and printable.
Too bad I didn't hear about this earlier.
‘’A very Gonzo choice, to be sure.’’
Heh, heh.
Talk about Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail!
Hunter/Thompson or Thompson/Hunter is a good ticket but let’s not forget about Tom Tancredo (lifetime ACU rating 97.8).
There fixed that for you. Manufacturers are not in the business of guaranteeing jobs to employees. They whined and moaned for decades, using unions in some cases, for a 'fair' wage. Well they got it. And by doing so, priced their employer out of the market. Too bad.
One of the cornerstones of my campaign is bringing back high-paying manufacturing jobs to the U.S., said Hunter. China is cheating, undercutting American products and sending jobs overseas.
No Dunc, the American worker did that to themselves.
Part of playing fair relates to taxation. Hunter said American manufacturers are double taxed here in America while overseas competitors arent taxed when their goods are shipped to this country.
Hmmm, good ol' fashioned tariffs. Yeah that works real well....
Thanks for the ping, CD. Looking forward to Hunter coming over to Raleigh...
You might want to read more on his positions and trust the chicoms a bit less.
Hunter wants to replace the current tax code with the Fair Tax, for starters.
He also want to eliminate all taxes on products manufactured for export.
He also want to force China to quit undervaluing their currency - which makes their products cheaper than market prices.
He’s not talking about resurrecting a tariff regime to improve things, but he is going to bust their balls for the cheating they consistently engage in.
I see the Globalists have crawled out again.
You missed the point about what Hunter was saying.....we no longer have the industries to make the products necessary for American defense.
Its nuts to rely on Communist Chine and others for materiel if we should ever go into a major war
Good points, pissant.
Hunter has raised some common-sense issues regarding trade with Commie China. As you pointed out...none involve a tarriff.
I like Hunter in that he is an Americanist and not a Globalist.
LOL, because I'm not for Dunc's Whig protectionism scheme (no matter how you package it), I'm now a 'globalist'. Thanks, that's a new one on me.
.we no longer have the industries to make the products necessary for American defense.
Sure we do. Course we may not have the industries to keep supplying Wilsonian adventurism and supplication of troops in 170 countries. That's another thing that's changed in Dunc's 'five decades'.
Its nuts to rely on Communist Chine and others for materiel if we should ever go into a major war
But by gum we'll take loans from them to pay for our welfare state eh? We'll rely on them for money but not materials. Gotcha.
You protectionists do now how many wars start don't you? Building barriers to trade. This is fact
Yep. Ol Reagan started that war with the USSR over his refusal to have meaningful trade with the bear or its sattelites. Oh wait, he actually brought them to their knees.
“I like both Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter. The two together would be my dream ticket.”
They don’t agree on illegal immigration. I can’t see them on the same ticket, at all.
