The Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, "z'l"
I’ve studied at Chabad for years.
This is from the perspective of one who is not Jewish and is new to study. With all respect, Rabbi Boteach, is it not a generally more difficult undertaking for students to learn than for teachers to teach? From the students’ perspective, it seems that there is never enough length of explanation to easily reach them.
There will be enough time. More Jewish people will do the teaching, when they are ready. I’ll call individuals of them moreh or morah (teacher), sometimes, knowing that each of them will by ready to do so eventually.
And we want to avoid having kooky outbreaks of rebellion and misinformation from my hastier fellow Noachide students (who have looked for hastier teachers). That’s already happened more than is necessary, as if the misinformation from hate/paranoia groups weren’t enough. Good instruction only comes from authority—from those who have learned the greatest selflessness, wisdom, intuition and knowledge.
Rewards from what we are learning with patience along the way are exciting enough. And there’s so much to learn from authority.
Let’s let the Jewish people do the teaching. That’s the way it’s going to be, anyway. It’s an unchangeable way of things to come.
