Slander and libel, assault and battery, theft and fraud, trespass... They are actionable as "intentional torts", sort of a civil criminal tribunal-- almost no policy will defend or pay judgements. Maybe you have a different kind of homeowner's policy.

I have Chubb and had an investment, as a limited partner, in an investment partnership. I and a number of limiteds sued the general partner and then were counter-sued for libel and defamation of the general partner. Several of us (all Chubb clients) turned over the counter-claim to Chubb and were defended by it. We eventually won but Chubb paid not only my portion of the legl fees but also my other partners.
