Sorry about venting here.

But, thanks for letting me do so.

;o)

If I needed a doctor, I think I would rather see the one that graduated at the top of her class and did not go overseas than one that graduated at the bottom and did. Congratulations to your daughter.

Congratulations to your daughter, dc2000! And congrats to you, too, for raising such a smart, dedicated daughter. I have no doubt she will be a wonderful doctor. You both have a lot to be proud of!

As for The Nutty Professor, give ‘im hell, girl!! He deserves every bit of it.

I would love to be a “fly on the wall” when that harebrained professor gets to “meet” you. Sounds like just another pompous a$$ who doesn’t care to understand that some folks have to put aside some things to do other important things in their lives. Your daughter sounds wonderful, and please tell her congratulations on a job well done!

Dix - grades do matter - even down the line in your career. My son, the Ace, says that his progress to airline captain has been aided by “graduated with honors” on his resume. Tell your child that we are proud of her; oh, and you too.

That’s okay by me dixiechick! Vent all you want!

A parent that thinks their son or daughter is wonderful and dear and a hard working adult, and is something to be thankful for.......go right ahead and shout it to the rooftops! ;-)
I’d like to get right up there with you! ;-)

And I give thanks for your daughter and you, dear one!!!

Praise the Lord for her education! and her GPA!!!!!!!

..."Grades don't mean that much."

I would be curious how many with low grades but many visits to Guatemala were recognized.

Venting is good and it is perhaps better to vent here. Do not spend to much energy responding to the professor's limited vision.

Proverbs 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

or

Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Congratulations to you and your daughter.

Please tell your daughter congratulations for her hard work in taking care of her family for now and for in the future, and especially because she has chosen a career to help others.

As to grades, well, if one doesn’t have the heart for helping people, then grades won’t mean that much. Other than that, I definitely want my physicians to have the highest grades their intellect allowed and the common sense to use what they learned and will hopefully keep learning.
