Someone caught a buzzard and tied its wings so it could not fly. We took it into the sleepers room one day. He was sleeping as usual and one of my friends placed the bird on the boys chest. When the boy woke up he was nose to beak with the bird.

He was very angry when he finally calmed down.

In some cultures, seeing the Big Bird is a foretelling of Death, you know. It could have really fried his CPU...!

I do not believe it bothered him in that way. He was a Son of the South and some of us tend to view things differently. We were very careful around him for quite a while. He was a person who would get ahead instead of trying to get even.
