U.S. Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett waits to leave the Justice Court 1 in Bisbee following a hearing on Friday. Protesters are lined up behind Corbett, who is charged with killing an illegal immigrant near the U.S.-Mexico border just east of Naco. (Ed Honda•Herald/Review)

Corbett told supervisors at the Border Patrol’s Naco Station that he fired his service revolver in self-defense after Dominguez-Rivera threatened him with a rock from across his truck. The three family members, however, told investigators that Dominguez-Rivera never held a rock, and that Corbett shot him at point-blank range after running up behind him and pushing him to his knees.

Forensics will give us a good idea who's telling the truth here.

a disgrace our Justice system has become. Where the Law-abiding are prosecuted, and the lawless are afforded every right.

I wonder if those six witnesses were coached by the Mexican consulate like they did with the last two agents they railroaded.

So, naturally, the Bush administration will believe the invaders and put the agent in prison.

Forensics will prove or disprove quickly without the need for a Grand Jury so long as Cochise County, AZ, Attorney Ed Rheinheimer isn’t another Durham, N.C., District Attorney Mike Nifong.

Yup.

Shot from the front from six or eight feet away leaves very different physical evidence than shot from behind with the gun almost touching the body.

The People’s Republic here had story after story, glorifying the criminal invader and his family, and blaspheming the BP agent. No matter what the truth actually is, to the media and most politicians, the BP is always guilty before the trial.

I think every BP agent should walk off the job and go to work for Home Depot. It sure is a thankless job with the wrong people going to jail. Maybe that would get someone’s attention (probably not)

a group of protesters from the immigrant-rights group Border Action Network held signs in English and Spanish bearing statements such as "No one is above the law,"

What a load of crap. The Border Action Network has a collective hissy fit whenever there is even an attempt to hold illegal aliens accountable for the laws they break.

Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom, Chapman criticized Rheinheimer for filing charges based on the word of illegal immigrants rather than that of “a Border Patrol agent who puts his life on the line on a daily basis.”

Sounds like Officer Corbett is being Nifonged. What a disgusting example of judicial malfeasance this Rheinheimer is.

Exactly, how any one would ever consider working for the BP any more is beyond me... the work is horrendous, and then to get no support from the government would be a last straw..

Of course! Bush is an ardent believer in the World Court system, and is doing his utmost to change our judicial system into the same. After all, insurgent terrorists, and illegal (criminal) aliens are people, too! The heck with American taxpaying citizens! /s

Corbett was charged based in part on evidence from the coroner’s office supporting a close-range shooting from above and the location of his spent round at the rear of the truck, not at the front.

I live near Utica, NY and recently an Hispanic who does not speak English,(I don't know where he is from, the media won't say) walked up to a Utica Police Officer and put a bullet into the back of his head just for kicks.

The cop named Officer Thomas Lindsay, a former Marine, was in the process of letting another Hispanic off the hook for rolling through a stop sign at the time.

Poor Officer Lindsay died on the cold street in the Utica ghetto.

The dirt bag that killed him is named Wesley Marino Cirino and as I said he is a foreigner that does not speak a word of English. He is being provided a free lawyer and an interpreter courtesy of the taxpayer.

Rest In Peace Officer Lindsay. Sempre Fi.
