This is good news, but in the longer view we are a long ways from the reliability needed for a manned trip to Mars and back. The Centaur apparently misfired slightly yesterday and that is one of the most reliable rocket systems ever. The satellite will probably have enough internal fuel to reach its orbit on its own, but mission lifetime will be limited.
Perhaps all the EEO/diversity hires mandated in government and government contractors’ work forces are finally starting to make their presence shown? If we hire for skin color and sex the overall competency will eventually fall as we are not hiring for brains and problem solving.
