Congressman Duncan Hunter has many of Reagan’s better attributes: a solid Conservative record and an excellent advocate.

“The dissolution of US sovereignty into a NAU that (they hope) will someday encompass the entire western hemisphere?”

I might try to post an article that substantiates that some time today. Pretty much from the horses mouth too, no fog, no grey areas, undeniable if people will simply accept that they’ve been “had” on a national scale for too long. It won’t be news to people like you and I but many, and I mean many will likely of had no idea :)

Guess maybe the rabid Bush haters might want to take a look at this. Seems the country hates your side just as much.

Bush actually has a higher approval rating then Congress.

The year of bad feelings, and not just toward the GOP

Not fair is the fact that he’s taking his party down with him.

He's not taking his party down with him. It's going down all by itself, increasingly packed with socialists and globalists.

Great post! If this horror becomes a law I will lose my Air Force pension too and will quit working Civil Service for the Air Force (over 30 years of serving this great nation down the drain). The only choice many of us will have is to forcibly replace these idiots, because I feel we will have no further choice, but to declare WAR and take up arms against the current Government. I continue to call, e-mail, and fax the waffling Larry Craig’s office and he continues to vote against the rule of law. As you can tell I have had it!

I like what someone said about the two parties : They're both wings of the same evil bird of prey, and the prey is the American citizenry.

Wonderful statement. May I use it as a tag line?

Pray for the president, for he has clearly gone insane.
Nebuchadnezzar was insane for seven years too...

What a horrible email, even if this person disagrees with the President on this issue. President Bush has done much for the conservative cause including nominating conservative judges, tax cuts, the economy, and the issue of abortion. I think it’s very sad that the conservative base cannot separate out the issues they disagree with from all the rest of the good this president has done for this country. To tell him to take the American flag off of his lapel, because one doesn’t agree with him, is beyond the pale. Shame on the person who wrote this and all who said they agree with it.

If you read the latest stories they’re actually setting it up as McCain’s presidency is failing BECAUSE the bill has not passed yet. I expect if it does go down we’ll be hearing the same lies. It’s so Orwellian but there are fools in the GOP leadership like Trent Lott who will buy into it.

“I would LOVE to see Dick Cheney’s comment on this bill !!! He would be AGAINST it I’m sure?”

Don’t be so sure.

Ya know I was promoting a Cheney for President for months but of course with his health and absolute refusal to run;
I have pretty much forgotten about continuing to promote it.

But if Cheney had any balls, he would have gone to Bush and said “Mr. President, I cannot support this bill and your “immigration policy” and unless you go out there and start enforcing the immigration laws, start deporting all illegals and start fining & prosecuting employers who hire illegals; I AM OUTA HERE!”

And if Bush continued his failure to enforce the immigration laws, Cheney could have resigned and for the time being said “for health reasons” only to later at the end of the Bush administration, told the real reason for his resignation but he hasn’t and for that;
I have little respect for the man.

G.O.P.
Gelding Old Party

I just bought the web name “recalltrentlott.com”. I’m not that web savvy, so does anyone know what I should do next?

There are several premises at work here, that don't get properly discussed:

1) Illegal immigration is providing a safety valve to keep Mexico from slipping into Communist revolution.

2) A Hugo Chavez-style government next door would lead directly to Al Qaeda training camps and Chinese military installations within miles of our southern border, and would force us to undertake costly military actions to suppress Mexico at a time when we are already overextended around the world.

3) Bush hopes that by allowing young Mexicans to come here and see first-hand how a capitalist economy works, they will be less likely to support the rise Communism in their homeland.

4) Bush hopes that American citizens will shut up and accept depressed wages and increased crime in their neighborhoods (at least, duing an "adjustment" period), because the alternative of having an aggressive, Palestinian-like enemy state on our southern border is far worse.

5) Despite these hopes, it is hard for Americans to understand that when their President won't spell out these reasons for them. But he cannot do so because for him to even to mention the possibility of a Communist takeover in Mexico would embolden the Communists tremendously. He has to play it as a humanitarian issue.

6) Senior Democrat politicans know all this, but are cynically exploiting the situation to try to bring in more people who will one day vote their way.

7) Senior Republican politicians know all of this, but are naively wondering why Americans aren't willing to shut up and do what the President says in the interest of patriotism, like they did during the Cold War. They seem to forget the public is missing about half of the picture.

8) Business leaders don't know all of this and don't care - they just don't want their cheap labor supply dried up.

9) Big Government lovers see the illegal influx as the only way to prop up giant entitlement programs.

10) The media loves the Ellis Island Story, and will always identify with non-white newcomers as the "have-nots" fighting the privileged elites.

In short, everybody wins with illegal immigration except working class American taxpayers, who are being asked to bear the burden of depressed wages, a smaller pool of available jobs, and increased crime in their neighborhoods in the interest of what looks to them like no more than "being nice to the world".

If he wants a bill to pass, Bush is going to have to come clean about the geostrategic chess game he is playing and openly call for a unification of our two countries. There will be howls of protest, but at least the debate will be able to go forward on an honest footing, based on the stated and clear premise that we can't fight China economically or militarily over the long term without access to a Third World labor force similar to theirs. THis war of half-truths that is going on is unseemly, and insulting to the public.
