Isn’t that the truth? I have not been reading very many threads. Frankly, I had rather be doing my genealogy stuff. I have gotten back to the middle ages and I just can not understand how they lived back then. Some of the ancestors were beheaded, some were put in dungeons and 2 of my late husband’s ancestors died from the Black Plague. It seems that nothing has changed. It took the officials 3 weeks to decide that was what killed them. Guess the government was the same, although whole towns were wiped out back then.

I have some good friends named Hollins. Their family changed their name when a British ancestor named Holinshead had his head cut off. But I believe it happened in the sixteenth century, probably good old Henry VIII.
