Important: You should not use this letter to take any adverse action against an employee, such as laying off, suspending, firing, or discriminating against that individual, just because his or her Social Security number appears on the list. Doing so could, in fact, violate State or Federal law and subject you to legal consequences. This letter does not imply that you or your employee intentionally gave the government wrong information about the employees name or Social Security number. Nor does it make any statement about an employees immigration status.

Office of Central Operations 300 N. Greene Street Baltimore, MD 21290-0300 Date: EIN:
EMPLOYERS NAME STREET ADDRESS CITY, STATE ZIP

Why You Are Getting This Letter
Some employee names and Social Security numbers that you reported on the Wage and Tax Statements (Forms W-2) for tax year 2005 do not agree with our records. We need corrected information from you so that we can credit your employees earnings to their Social Security records. It is important because these records can determine if someone is entitled to Social Security retirement, disability and survivors benefits, and how much he or she can receive. If the information you report to us is incorrect, your employee may not get benefits he or she is due.
There are several common reasons why the information reported to us does not agree with out records, including:
Errors were made in spelling an employees name of listing the Social Security number;
An employee did not report a name change following a marriage or divorce; and
The name or Social Security number was incomplete or left blank on the Form W-2 report sent to the Social Security Administration.
Important: This letter does not imply that you or your employee intentionally gave the government wrong information about the employees name or Social Security number. Nor does it make any statement about an employees immigration status.

I imagine INS would be climbing over each other if the order were given to round up tarts. Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan are just the tip of the iceburg.
This is all politically correct showmanship.
a) Employ illegal aliens.
b) Inquire as to the legal immigration status of your employees.
Simple solution: The gal in personnel gets everybody to sign a form - 'Your employment in this company is conditional upon you passing a background check. If you fail, you will be fired with no liability to us'.
That's a contract with a signature. Just one piece of paper.
The FBI does the interviews for security clearances. They ran around for 6 months to approve me. And they and everybody else already knew me. Maybe those women are just rest stops that could last a year or two for them.
They should be sharing this info with IRS but won’t. “privacy” info y’know
That is the damn truth, the last I heard it takes about 9 months to a years to process a disability claim. So while us citizens starve to death, and illegal can have a background check in less than 24 hours.
That is the damn truth, the last I heard it takes about 9 months to a years to process a disability claim. So while us citizens starve to death, and illegal can have a background check in less than 24 one every six minutes hours.
I live in the Philippines, retired. My neighbor was telling me about his cousins that go to the states on 6 months visas and work for Pizza stores as delivery people. they live with (legal immigrant) relatives and use the the relative’s car to make deliveries. My neighbor was complaining that since his cousin’s work “under the table” they will not be able to get social security when they are 65 and that they get paid less than minimum wage. Even though my neighbor is a Philippine “cop” he sees nothing wrong with his cousin’s working illegally in the U.S.
That's why we want it to last as long as possible.
BUMP!
That's a big mistake and not just because it rewards illegals for breaking our laws or because we're going to be taking money that would otherwise be going to Americans and giving it to illegals.
Since these illegals have used fake numbers, maybe even multiple fake numbers, and even real numbers that belong to other people, it's going to be incredibly difficult to untangle the mess and figure how much they've really contributed, if anything, to Social Security.
This move, like a lot of others in the failed Senate amnesty bill, puts the welfare of illegal immigrants above that of the American people.
The US Social Security system is being looted by illegals use multiple SS numbers---some even rent out their SS numbers so other illegals can pocket $3500 Earned Income Tax refunds.
Now illegals can collect US Social Security with multiple fraudulent SS cards, whereas American citizens have to work and contribute far longer than illegals before collecting.
Illegals here get paid under the table, don't pay taxes, and send billions of US dollars back to their corrupt country.
A widely-used SS# scheme: the illegals name their anchor baby the same name as the parent. They obtain a valid SS# for the anchor baby; the parent uses it, no one checks beyond name-matching, if that.
CNN's Lou Dobbs reported illegals are stealing small childrens' SS# because a child doesn't use a number very often so it is near impossible to detect a stolen number.
Dobbs also mentioned that business owners give illegals SS# of a previous employee (it is not a felony to give away SS#s but it is a felony to use them).
Another twist. Now illegals don't have to use rented or fake SS# because they've just been granted the right to collect SS if they have worked a short time (44 months I think), whereas legit American citizens have to work for far longer before collecting.
Thanks to conniving invaders, pretty soon American senior citizens will be on the "Mexican retirement system"---selling sticks of chewing gum on street corners.
LOOKIT THIS ATROCITY
The US Totalization Agreement between the U.S. and Mexico was signed in June 2004, and is awaiting the president's signature. The impact of the US Totalization Agreement with Mexico on the US Social Security Trust Fund would, in effect, ship our Social Security system to Mexico. It would allow millions of illegal Mexican workers to draw billions of dollars from the US Social Security Trust Fund.
My point was that the fraudulent numbers will led us to where the illegals are, so we can start using that information to deport them.
She apparently does some illegal things.
This nonsense is created by ‘anti-discrimination’ legislation that Senator Kennedy put together.
“A widely-used SS# scheme: the illegals name their anchor baby the same name as the parent. They obtain a valid SS# for the anchor baby; the parent uses it, no one checks beyond name-matching, if that.

You could check the DOB... not that the Govt wants to do this.
Can you simple require them to fill out a new form with the correct information and send this onto SSA? It would be interesting to see if you got a second error letter from them. Then you might give INS a call from a pay phone reporting the likelihood of the presence of an illegal person at a certain address. But, probably you are right. The word has come down from the highest level that the laws are not to be enforced.
A lot of the illegals use legal Americans numbers and the corporations and businesses know this. They choose to look the other way. My card was stolen by an a Latino; but I never saw it copied.
