Let's cut to the chase here. The pro-amnesty politicians in Washington think that the little snit thrown by the American people is now over. Now that we've had our fun -- now that we've chased the amnesty bill from the floor of the Senate -- they think that they can now bring it back with some meaningless words about amendments and the American people will let it slide this time.
OK ... so Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, the majority and minority leaders, have reached some sort of a "deal" that will allow amendments to be proposed to the amnesty bill. The likelihood is that no amendments will actually be adopted. If any do make it through they will have no real affect on the amnesty provisions of the bill. It's a smokescreen. Look for the bill to pass the Senate in pretty much its present form ... amnesty and weak border protection intact.
Oh .. .and the president's promise to dedicate 4.4 billion to border security? We were supposed to spend this money anyway under previous border protection laws! Why didn't we? All the president is promising here is to do what the laws that already exist require him to do. He says the money will come from the fines paid by illegals seeking legal residency status. Come on, folks. Do you think those fines are really going to be paid? I can hear the screams from the left right now: "Poor Pablo is trying to raise a family. How can we ask him to pay so much money to the U.S. Government when he needs that money to buy medicine and food for little Pablo and Julio? We need to show our humanity by waiving these fines!" Get with the program, folks. The vast majority of these so-called fines will never be collected. You know it, and so does the president.
Are the Senators right? Is the president right? Is your guard down? Are you tired of fighting the Mexican invasion? If these Senators don't hear from you this bill will be before the house before you can say no hablo Espanol.
if anyone here knows how to get in touch with Rush, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin, etc. Here’s a list of key Senate contacts for EVERYONE to email regarding immigration. Many offices are putting calls straight to voicemail and they can just trash faxes (and letters take weeks to get through due to security). Let’s hit Hill staff where they are so codependent - their Blackberries. Send email directly to staff - not just the generic Senator’s mailbox. Contact their Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Press Secretary. Make your voice heard!!

Thank you for joining the fight to save America.
If that is true then some Joe 6 pack should take it upon himself to run against him. With the mood what it is he might just win!
That is one of our problems, not enough Joe 6 packs in government.
So because other Presidents (and Congresses) have failed to enforce immigration laws we can't decide we have had enough and demand that they perform their constitutional duty? Sounds like the reasoning of a teenager. Because you let them get away with something a few times you can never again crack the whip.
Also, in my lifetime (born under Eisenhower) George Bush has been uniquely despicable in his arrogant refusal to enforce the people's laws, his contempt and distain for ordinary citizens and his refusal to even make gestures to the fundamental principle of our self-governing system -- the sovereignty of the people. For example, if you look at workforce enforcement statistics Clinton's last year in office saw over 1,000 enforcement actions versus something like 3 for 2004 by GWB.
In fact, in my opinion no President during my lifetime has ever needed impeaching as much as GWB, including Clinton, whose impeachment I strongly supported. Bush has been worse by far than any other post war President in his defiance of the legislative authority of the people and the illegal immigration problem has grown incalculably worse during his term both because of his amnesty rhetoric which has encouraged a flood of illegal immigration and his actions to shut down enforcement which extend so far as intimidation of our border control officers (Ramos and Campion) and the signing of secret pacts with Mexico.
If we wish to be serious about asserting our rights as citizens to govern ourselves and shape our own future for ourselves and our children, such Presidential actions and attitudes must be met with determined resolve. If "we the people" will not even assert the threat of impeachment under these conditions then we really do deserve the government we've got!
No matter how it happens if this POS bill passes Repubs are going to have such hell to pay they'd wish Bill Clinton was back in office before the wrath of this electorate comes down on them!
I swear, they have been taking lessons from the Clintons on how to dupe the public.
I know how you feel. I kept waking up last night because of this. It makes me ill. The only thing that make me feel better is picking up the phone and and thrashing them over the line for what they have attempted to do. They are only lucky they don’t live right by me, since venting through words isn’t the only action I’d like to take right now.
I can’t attest to the rightness of my prayers right now, can only says they generally consist of wishing these folks in D.C. get everything they’ve earned and then some. While at same time praying for that miracle of stopping them in their tracks. It worked last week, seeking His help again.
Keep up the good work. Post, email, fax, etc. So Far I have actually gotten 3 Personal Thank You letters from the many I have faxed/emailed/called. Ane these were not generid responses.
Washington is feeling our “heat”
Keep it up. And remember that on November 8 (if we make it that far) we have a lot of amnesty supporters to replace. Reps or Dems no matter. Pro Amnesty=No vote.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how “immigration reform” is suddenly the most critical issue the nation ever faced. I do not ever recall a bill so unpopular being the focus of so much effort by some politicans to get it passed, despite its overwhelming unpopularity.
It’s one of the weirdest things I ever saw in politics.
And Bush is so hell-bent on getting it passed, after it failed miserably last year, that I am now growing suspicious that he and certain elements of the GOP threw the election of 2006 in the hopes that more rats in congress would improve the bill’s chances for passage. I know, I know.... tin foil time. But this whole fiasco is so weird, anything seems possible.
