Title 5: Higher Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards. — The end of the SUB is nigh because the commie bastards want us all in mini Prius cars or SmartCars. When the CAFE standards ramp up to 40 - 50 mpg within 15 years, no manufacturer will be able to have a single SUV in their fleet.

I agree with you. The bottom line is that consumers should have the ability to buy the car or truck of their choice and not have that decision made for them by Congress. The Levin-Bond amendment, while still very tough on the industry, is much more realistic at 36PG than the 52MPG initially proposed. However, this bipartisan amendment protects consumer choice by maintaining the distinction between passenger cars and light trucks, and acknowledging the key attributes that separate these two types of vehicles.
