This is yet another corruption by our large cast of crooked public “servants”. A existing road, previously paid for by taxes and on public land is turned over to private interests who install toll booths which shake down the public in violation of the ‘freedom of assembly” clause in the 1st in exchange for maintenance of said road and money under the table in exchange for the giveaway of public property. No taxes are ever lowered in exchange for the public sector dropping maintenence; effectively double charging the taxpayer.
This is a scam and violates the Constitution.

The government building roads is socialist. There’s no such thing as a “free lunch”. If a private corporation were to own roads on Manhattan, they can charge a congestion fee during the rush hour in order to decrease traffic. (Taxis and buses will be excluded)

But with that comes the added risk to taxpayers that if the tolls don't produce the revenue they were expected, they get stuck with the loss.Kind of like the professional sports stadiums in Houston that the "tourists" are supposed to be paying for. Why is it that expenses are always under estimated and revenues are always over estimated?

for 4 years i’ve wondered:
why didn’t the dog bark? as in sherlock holmes.
why didn’t the democrats bark about the extra price of tolls owned by foreign companies?

6 new toll projects in the Austin area will basically cause anyone visiting the city, to pay a toll. Only exclusion......I35. Think it’s congested now?
FYI: Toll authority officials stated, traffic and revenue on the new 183-A toll road, is far less than previously expected. HAH!
