You’re close. The full answer is a race to attempt to pander and win the support of a huge future voter base. This is part of why Bush is pushing this along with his compassionate conservatism nonsense and having latin relatives. Big gamble for Republicans as I am not convinced the Republicans will win that many mexican-americans based on this. Its a win/win for the dems. If it passes they pick up millions of future voters. If it fails they still succeed in splitting the Republican base.

Let's get our local office holders to start calling the Senators too.
Print and send to the every Republican in a state and municipal office with a note that there will be no further contributions until we get a fence BUILT and DEFENDED on our border with Mexico.
Please send this idea out to your ping lists.

Maybe we ought to mail our congresscritters some bricks, to help them get started on the wall.
I’ll be calling all morning.

I’ve read all of today’s stories on this, and there are two schools of thought:
1). $4.4 billion for “increased border enforcement” (http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/06/bush_hopes_prop.html)
2). The rhetoric of the 12 million-plus “hard working, peaceful illegals” who illegally entered the country for no other reason than a better life, the illegals who “deserve” their piece of the American dream...
I’d like to go for increased border security and treating lawbreakers like lawbreakers. What’s so difficult about that? What part of “NO AMNESTY” does President Bush NOT understand?

About 230 years ago there were desperate people believing "it is only bad advice he is getting ,King George really cares about us".
History does repeat,after all.

I knew it was too good to be true. If they somehow succeed in passing this horrendous bill there could be a full-fledge rebellion against President Bush and the GOP from it's most loyal backers.
God help us.

Take a look at #102 and tell me if these people might be more interested in our decision to cut our donations to their campaigns.

"We're going to show the American people. that The promises I made to Presidente Fox in this bill will be kept," Bush said.
Fixed it.

Today there are rallies consisting of people who came here illegally and then received amnesty. They want to put a “human face” on immigrants. They are saying that the illegal immigrants of today DESERVE the same advantages they received when they came here. So, my question is, how does amnesty help at all? In twenty years the current bunch we are about to grant legal status to will be holding rallys because the next wave deserves what THEY got. And we never get any credit for the kindness or amnesty we have already extended. We are still accused of being racist and hateful no matter what we do or how often we do it. It is so discouraging.
To: Alaphiah123
First, send back the illegals.
Then, build a seriously imposing wall.

Some guy named Silveira or Duffy wrote “The Coming American Dictatorship”;I seem to remember he thought fascism would be the type of government forced on us.
