The TSA will harass a mother over a sippy cup, but ten Imams behaving in a very suspicious manor...that’s OK. Political correctness is the terrorist’s best friend.

Please don’t be so self-righteous, she could be a young widow, it happened to me.

We can't allow the citizens to even think they can get away with being uppity.

I'm sorry, but I am just losing faith that this country is actually America anymore. I want a revolution just so we can get back to NORMAL.

Sir/Ma’am,

I am extremely proud of you. This is exactly how abuse of authority should be handled.

WAIT!! I have a solution!

Put every single TSA worker on the southern border, and let them hassle the illegals.

It could work. Seriesly. ;-D

You talk of "pigs' and "gulags" tells me that you have difficulty grasping that every story has two sides.

I'm not saying it's all her fault. My entire first paragraph explains my feeling that the TSA can be power-hungry and unpleasant to deal with. HOWEVER, anyone who realizes that should realize that treating the TSA with polite respect and that following their instructions is the smart strategy.

She went through with something she shouldn't have had.
They told her to dispose of it -- she spilled it on the floor.
She started yelling instructions to her partner.
She started making demands.

My essential point was that "she handled the situation badly". Do you think she handled the siuation "just right"?

Which is probably what she did. She got pissed because someone DARED to make her follow the rules like she was a commoner and she just poured it out.

No wonder the terrorists are recruiting Europeans. They can just throw a hissy fit and people will take their side.

They’re flying to Reno. Get it now? Nevada? Las Vegas? Celebrated sleaze? Also, were there any “disinterested parties” who witnessed this?

No, you are correct. There are better ways to handle things.

I just get a little irrational when I think of the arrogance of some of these people when they have the upper hand.

Would love to see how they would squirm in a reverse situation.

Thanks for the calm response to my rant.

Yeah but you flew anyway. No matter what happens, they know we won’t vote with our feet. In the end, we’ll just take it. That’s why they have so much swagger for a bunch of lowpaid workers. They know we’ll just complain.

It’s interesting that when stories fit our preconceived notions about something, we don’t really need to hear both sides of the story. Not nearly as much as we demand both sides if a story is cognitively dissonant.

I have no trouble seeing this travel weary parent simply dumping the water on the floor with a “what water?” look to the TSA folks.

Saw some pretty nasty folks on the 630am Detroit to BWI last weekend. As though the flight cancellation the night before due to weather was somehow the TSA’s fault.

Here’s where things turned to worms...

“I demanded to speak to a TSA [Transportation Security Administration] supervisor...”

Well, she might have wanted to talk with someone who spoke English.

Wondering if there is a racial component here at the DC airport (lots of minorities working for TSA). Pretty blonde mom nervous about travelling alone with a little toddler — high stress. Enough blame to go all around.

I see children used as mass murderers on the news. Why should I think the terrorists will not bring their brand of death and destruction to our shores? In fact, they’ve let us know they’re trying to get here. They hate our freedom. I’m not “scared,” but I don’t have my head in the sand, either. There are reasonable things we can do to minimize terrorize incidents here. Cooperating with inspectors at an airport and not making a small incident, irritating though it was to her, into a media story numbers among them.

The joke is what America has become. I am ashamed for my beloved country when high school dropouts and ex-cons are given TSA badges and allowed to run amok. This is a symptom of a much larger disease: government control over the most minute aspects of our lives. The GOP in Congress has betrayed us and made the problem worse.

Osama laughs his ass off over stories like this. Mission accomplished. We’re terrified of a sippy cup.

My experience with the TSA goes this way: The rudest, dumbest TSA staff work at Reagan National. Every other airport to which I have traveled in the US, the TSA folk are much nicer and happier to help.

The folks at Reagan are bone heads.

TSA = Thousands Standing Around

I dont appreciate the TSA either. They are a joke. They do nothing to make us safer, but they do inconvenience us and create a climate of fear where citizens have to lick the boots of their uniformed overlords just to get on an airplane.

My entire first paragraph explains my feeling that the TSA can be power-hungry and unpleasant to deal with.

And may I point out that some of these types of power-hungry individuals will be wearing uniforms dealing with guarding the borders and deporting and/or separating entire families...all in their zeal to enforce the law.

Wake up folks!

THAT'S WHY the government will NOT allow immigration laws enforced.
