If Shamnesty passes, I predict two things:

1 - Decades of domination by the Democratic Party, with 20 million instant party members on their rolls

2 - For all intents and purposes, the death of the GOP. It may go on in name only, but it'll be much much smaller, as the middle class social conservatives leave it en masse. The GOP will once again be nothing but a party of rich country clubbers. The rest of us will have went somewhere else, or we'll create a new party from scratch and grow it.

The Democrats will dominate in any case if the bill is passed. Conservatives will be demorilized and won't show up at the polls in 08. Mel Martinez, George Bush, and Karl Rove are fools. They're herding the party right over a cliff chasing a magic mirage of masses of Hispanic voters that will never, ever check off a GOP ballot.
