Here’s the truth of the matter ... If the terrorists thought we would treat these people like the Iraqi’s would. There would be a whole lot less of them for us to treat like that.

No actually there wouldn't. If people really understood what combat is like most people wouldn't go for a solider. Yet they do. Why? Because there is that willing suspension of belief that allows your average young male to convince themselves it will never happen to them. In fact, as Napoleon in Spain, the Nazis in Eastern Europe and the Russians in Afghanistan discovered, that sort of tactics tends to provoke a sever backlash.
