Laura Ingraham Takes the Gloves Off on Tony Snow
Laura Ingraham Show ^ | June 14, 2007 | Laura Ingraham

Posted on 06/14/2007 10:21:54 AM PDT by Lauren BaRecall

Laura interviewed Tony Snow in the last hour of her show. In fact, she devoted the whole hour to illegal immigration. After her no holds barred interview with Tony (she wiped the floor with him!), she took phone calls and read emails that were generated in reaction to the interview.

This is MUST HEAR RADIO!!!

Sorry. For me at least Laura got too screechy, snippy, intolerant and cocksure on this issue months ago. Call me when she's on a Midol drip and I might try listening again.

I always wondered what the right saw in Tony Snow. He always seemed to be a dullard to me, and I remember him bragging of his friendship with RAT thug bob beckel. He may be a nice guy personally, but a staunch, principled conservative, he’s not.

I *like* seeing Snow in this position. His feet *need* to be held to the fire. He *needs* to have his nose rubbed into, as Laura remarked, the fact that we are already having to live with the destruction of illegal aliens in our communities. (And believe me, *I* do!) It’s high time someone burst that insulating bubble this administration, and Congress, is living in.

They are the real conservatives. We should all support them. We can't take any more chances on a maybe. Our country , our way of life, and everything we have worked for is at stake.

Laura wasn’t hard enough on Tony IMO. More outrage is required if we’re ever going to penetrate their thick skulls!

Any way to obtain a transcript one can read? Even if I could stream online audio, bah! can’t stand audio-only interviews (or audiobooks, for that matter).

I like seeing Bush's spokesman's feet held to the fire. I just wish Snow wasn't that spokesman. When Snow took the job, Bush was dealing with a lot of undeserved and dishonest attacks by the press. I think he took the job in an honest effort to do his civic duty. On most issues, I think that the Bush administration has been honest with us. However, on illegal immigration there has been a total lack of honesty and integrity.

The job of a President's press secretary is to advocate the President's agenda. However, Snow is not in the position of advocating a stance on an issue that can't be advocated honestly.

I'm sure it is very difficult for Snow to back out now, but that is what he should do. He should resign.

Fred Thompson voted against general amnesty, against welfare for illegals, and to improve border security.

And he voted against ending chain migration twice. He voted that it's OK to fire Americans and hire cheaper foriegn labor 3 times. He voted against stiffer penalties for those who hire illegals. He tried to kill voluntary pilot programs for workplace verification. He agreed to doubling of H1-B visas but opposed anti fraud measures. He voted for amnesty for 1 million Cubans and Nicaraguans.

Basically he voted against some amnesty and proceded to dump buckets of bait into the water. You can hope those issues go away and I'll continue to hope for a green sky in the morning but at the end of the day those issues are going to be the noose that hangs him.

Fred might not be satisfactory to your “shoot all the wetbacks” sensibilities, but he’s a lot better on the issue than Rudy McRomney would DREAM of being.

Doesn't take much to push you into the same name calling corner as the rest of the open borders lobby.

I agree with amnesty for Cubans and Nicaraguans.

I’ll wait to hear explanations of his other votes that I question. Whenever I have questioned one of Fred’s votes in the past he always had a GOOD explanation. I have no reason to
believe it is any different this time.

Tony Snow is not carrying water for the White House, he’s shoveling sh-t into the wind for the White House.

If he opposes what he is saying, he can quit. If he had any sort of ethics or dignity, he would quit before he sold his soul. So, he either 1) agrees with Bush or 2) has no character. Perhaps both.

On most issues Bush has acted with considerable integrity. I did always agree with what he did, but I usually felt he was being honest.

Bush has obviously put a lot of trust in Snow, and resigning over this could be seen as being disloyal to someone he feels is in general a good man, and that can't be easy.

You are right that he should resign rather than trying to dishonestly advocate this disaster of a policy.

So, he either 1) agrees with Bush or 2) has no character.

Loyalty and honesty are both aspects of good character. However, honesty is always more important the loyalty, and if someone else puts you in a position where they are forcing you to lie, it is they who are being disloyal to you.

There must have been a change on WGOW, because I’m getting Sean Hannity on there now.

So where is he going to get the $30 Billion that he wants for Aids prevention in Africa and Europe? Also, has GW gone off the wagon?

Bush’s approval ratings have sunk since Snow took the job. I guess Scotty wasn’t the problem.
