While this is a horrendous and despicable incident it is truly isolated. Banagalore (the city where this happened) has a thriving Christian community which is totally accepted by the vast majority of the people there. I grew up in India, went to catholic schools and had Christian neighbors for years and never heard of any violence or discrimination.

The other huge difference is that acts like this have no validation at all from Hinduism. The Hindu religion has no categorization of “infidels” and has no issues at all with other religions co-existing. The people who did this are truly a fringe group that even the vast majority of Hindus condemn.

There is just no history of Hindus killing other people en masse unprovoked in the name of religion. Deplorable and inexcusable as this incident is, to equate it with ISLAM is absurd.

Who would you be more afraid of, 5 young Hindu youth or 5 young Middle Eastern Muslim Arabs in a plane / mall / back alley ? I rest my case.

Well then, I guess that makes it OK!

National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) Christians, in various attacks on villages, killed quite a few Hindus who refused to convert. A couple of incidents ignited by hysteria have occurred since then, including a false report of violence against another preacher said to have occurred in India (actually happened in Pakistan).

BTW, we also know of several nations that are trying to prevent USA-India cooperation.

This smacks of a LAWYER whipping up a mob. I would like to know this unknown lawyer's connection to the pastor. Follow the money.

Also if I were stranded anywhere in India I would not be afraid, but in any Muslim country...I'm probably not coming back.

That may be true, and since you are a former resident or citizen of India I suppose you are correct in so far as you know the current situation over there. But since my conflicting information comes from a source that I believe to be scrupulously honest and truthful, I have to believe that perhaps the situation over there has changed since you lived there.

I am not saying that violence against Christian converts is anywhere near to being as common and widespread in India as it is in some Islamic nations, but I do believe it occurs all to often in certain areas of India for a modern day civilized nation such as India to tolerate.
