I love Savage but the one area where he is off base is economics. Blaming oil companies for high gas prices is crazy. Per gallon, oil companies make 9 cents whereas the govt makes 40 - 60 cents. The oil companies may have high profits but profit MARGINS are about 10% which is lower than any self respecting tech company. Exxon also makes 70% of its profits outside the U.S and finally no new refinery has been built in the USA since 1976, that is a huge factor in restricting supply of gasoline, NOT crude oil. To blame oil companies with all these facts available is disingenuous. A windfall profit taxes would be an insane and communist idea as well. That is the only arena where I disagree with Savage, on other topics he is brilliant.

I read that story about Romney on Savage’s site. I don’t believe the headline on Savage’s site matched what Romney was quoted as saying.
