I like it that Mike has a soft spot for animals. Sometimes, I think conservatives take it to the extreme—they think because the lefties are on one extreme, they have to be on the other. There is a happy middle.

I like animals, too but I think that the Inuit have the right to hunt whale if they eat that stuff!

It reminds me of Colin Powell in 2000. Many were wanting him to run -- either party, they didn't care. But after his rather lackluster stint as SecState, they were glad he didn't run.

I think there would be buyers remorse if Fred ended up as the GOP candidate, too!

I’m glad Mike is taking these inuits to task for killing whales.

Also indians and casinos. Just a white guilt crock.

Well, I agree that coddling minorities is wrong, but I don't see what's wrong with the Inuit killing a few whales for food. Obviously, Savage knows little about Inuit culture. They don't kill these by themselves. The entire tribe will share the "fruits" of this hunt and they WILL eat it food.

He needs to do some research before he opines on stuff like this.

Sad, eh?

I like the "eh" part. It's early and tedious so far.

Did anyone hear Bernie Goldberg on Hannity? I caught a snippet where Hannity said there are some whackjobs in talk radio, but he didn't want to mention anyone by name.

I don't blame him, Levin wouldn't like it.

This is the whale article Savage spent a good part of the first hour discussing.

Bowhead Whale Reveals Unlikely Treasure: 100-Year-Old Weapon

Indigenous people from Alaska, Greenland and the Chukotka region of eastern Russia and Greenland are allowed to hunt a fixed number of whales for traditional, non-commercial consumption. Alaskan Eskimos are permitted to harvest about 50 a year.

I though Savage had withdrawn his support of Romney over his pro-gay family comments.
