It depends on what type of cucumber you have. I was in Romania recently, and their cucumbers are amazing. Frankly, the kick the daylights out of the ones we have here. They look very different, as well. Bumpy surfaces...

Reminds me of my recent visits to eastern Ukraine. The outdoor markets have the best produce I've ever seen. All of it grown locally and all of it surpassing in quality, appearance and flavor anything that I can find in the grocery stores here.
