Rush might be passing around bad information on the Prius being environmentally worse than the Hummer, but you have to hand it to the caller who brought up the point about where his 15 MPG Cherokee goes once he trades it in for a Prius. Unless it is destroyed, it continues at some point out on the road.
True, but maybe the relevant fact is that he isn't going to buy another Cherokee. So that if more people do that the mix of cars on the road is going to change over time.
I can understand Rush's desire to deflate those who pride themselves on buying hybrids, but someone could apply the same argument to just about any attempt to "do good."
People who think they're "doing good" can be annoying and they aren't always right, but they aren't always wrong either.
But of course there's no show if you always "on the one hand ... on the other ..."
