he passed cause he was not lying. Not necessarily. There's a good reason why polygraph results are not admissible in court - it's because they essentially measure how nervous you are. If you are a good liar, you can pass - and if you're nervous because you're being interrogated by the cops, you will fail.
This is not to say that the Marines are actually guilty. This only says that polygraph results are meaningless junk science.
