I miss Rummy too. Salute to Gen. Pace!
What a crock.
What about the fact that Levin himself said the Dems on Armed Forces were going to give Pace a rough time? They were going to rake him over the coals with his anti-gay commnents.
Sure, Pace's position on gays is a good one. But did anyone really think Hillary Clinton on Armed Forces wasn't going to make this an issue for her Code Pinkos and presidential ambitions? Sheesh.
Nevertheless, you have to be willing to fight those fights. Who cares what the pinkos say.
I think Bush got General Pace out to get his immigration bill passed. That bought the hold outs.
No, the Chairman should give 100% to the WOT.
Not to sitting for months in front of Hillary so she can have her face on TV 24/7.
Offer one day of testimony. If they don’t like it, they can vote against. You MUST fight those fights. Otherwise the left gets to dictate personnel and policy. Sorry.
I won’t go that far. It fits in with gate’s new tone.
Offering one day for confirmation is a fight?
They laugh in your face. Some fight.
Sure.
Maybe we should just nominate Jack Murtha as JCS Chairman and avoid all conflict.
The moment Bush allowed Rummy to go, that is when he entered into lame-duck status.
>>”Gen. Peter Pace is a great American hero. He has commanded troops with distinction at virtually every level of the military in combat and times of peace,” Hunter said. “Gen. Pace’s decorations are too numerous to list in their entirety, but they include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal with Combat ‘V.’ His lifelong dedication to the men and women of the Marine Corps, and their families, will be remembered and applauded for generations.<<
Duncan Hunter understands what these medals mean and what it takes to have them awarded. That in itself speaks volumes about a man who is more fit to be the POTUS than any “top tier” politician.
bttt to read later
The immigration bill loses on a critical vote with 10 democrats voting “nay.” Next morning Bush is “sick” and Pace is fired soon after. Bush was cutting his deal, that’s why he thinks it’s in the bag now.
I agree!!
General Pace is a MARINE!! He can take care of himself against those bunch of jackals on the hill.
YOU are the one who said he should not be having to testify. Make up your mind. The new guy is going to get grilled too.
I nominate Murtha for the firing squad. Fat evil traitor.
Appears that way.
The conflict is in the real war where soldiers are dying.
The Chairman shouldn't be distracted from that for some political footsie with Hillary.
Or low tier guy, for that matter
