Did you read Title III? [reference to Hewitt analysis] There were hefty fines for employers and a risk of criminal charges.

Saveliberty, are you understanding how wrong you are yet?

There will be few employer sanctions from the moment George Bush signs his Amnesty. No "hefty fines", no "criminal charges".

Why? Because virtually every illegal alien in America is instantly amnestied the moment the bill is signed. That's the law as written in the new bill.

Thus all illegal aliens are now legal employees, and all employers are instantly in compliance with the new law as contained in S.1348. Presto chango, President Bush to the rescue.

But even Hugh sees that in the analysis you keep citing:

"At first glance the costs associated with this new workplace system are huge, and I would have expected the Chamber of Commerce and others to strenuously resist transfer of the costs of immigration enforcement from the federal government to the private sector. There are some significant penalties here that ordinary businesses will simply be stunned to discover especially in the paperwork department."

"The willingness to go along suggests that there’s a loophole the size of a black hole hidden within the text, and again we are taken to the loophole of “probationary Z visas,” discussed in my first post on the bill’s fine print."

But Tony Snow said our cards would have markers on them. So, are employers going to all have scanners? Are we now going to be bar coded like groceries??? Remember George H. W. Bush didn’t know how to scan groceries? Now they want to scan human beings. A bar code is the only marker I am familiar with. Well, and then the fingerprinting Tony mentioned. I think Tony spilled a lot of beans w/Matthews cuz Tony’s guard was down this evening. Seriesly. FV

How does the employer necessarily know if the employer is presented with faked or stolen information?

The fix in and has been for a long time.

And we’ve got people worried about ‘conservatives looking bad’ in debating this point! Well, let me say this. This isn’t the time to fight domestic foes while trying to “behave”.

This is insanity. To worry about how conservatives are perceieved while they agressively fight for Patriotism and the future of the United States...is but one definition of Insanity!

Great picture by the way! :)

Had Fausta been running the charge, we would have had a different result, but in the end, we got the mess that we have now.

Had George Bush and the Republican Policy Committee submitted a Senate amendment 1150 that did not include a permanent and perpetual Z visa residence status to every illegal alien in America, there would have been no charge to lead.

See how easy that is?

We all just need to hold hands and sing Kum ba Ya while someone climbs the flagpole and cedes the territory. That way history will judge us as “friendly” in our surrender of soverignty. Arrrrrgggggggggg.

He “edits” the bill?

First, he merely delays the issuance of Z visa and probationary status until “the triggers” are certified. Understand that he’s merely saying “keep the status quo” until that time. OK, that’s fine, because many of us favor the status quo over this abomination of a bill.

Second, Hugh Hewitt has no special knowledge or authority on this issue, and frankly it looks as if he doesn’t understand the permanancy of Z visa status.

Tony said, “it’s not a national ID card... states to make them but they are federal.” How can Tony ever unexplain this stuff he said to Chris Matthews? It was much more revealing than the Fox & Friends interview this a.m.

Real easy...just like he “un-explained” all of the initial Iran “meddling in Iraq” evidence. Remember that big 180 turn? I think Tony’s a great guy, but he really didn’t and doesn’t need to be pushing this garbage for his boss IMHO.

And for any goofballs out there that interpret that as meaning I think he doesn’t agree with it...that’s not what I’m saying. I realize his past positions, but if not for his boss and this particular bill, it wouldn’t be his primary topic of discussion, I don’t think.

You didn’t answer the question. Do you still say the bill isn’t amnesty?

Illegals get freebies and bring in diseases, unlike legals.

TB, which was nearly eradicated in America, is making a surging comeback in every state with a substantial illegal alien population.

The Z visa requires no specific medical checks or immunizations as specified by the CDC for legal immigrants. None.

Z visa applicants produce only a self-completed questionaire in connection with their application.

Mandated checks for legal immgrants include TB, STDs, mental competence, and general health.Required immunizations for legal immgrants include MMR, flu, meningitis, and several others I don't recall.

Z visa applicants require no immunizations whatsoever.

My wife was in the State Dept. certified hospital in her country for two days of testing, evaluation, and immunizations to meet legal immigration health requirements.

Z visa applicants will not spend one minute or one dime meeting their medical requirements.

We can only imagine.

To think this president didn't even think it important enough to go to capitol hill when the bill funding the effort in Iraq was stalled.

And, everyone who applies for work will be fingerprinted as well.

There is a very ominous statement in one of the official documents that "U.S. citizens will be processed for work authorization once new employees have been approved", or something to that effect.

Can;t recall specifically where I read it.
