I was hoping for an ending like the first Godfather, with a bunch of people getting whacked, and loose ends being tied up, but that would be Hollywood, wouldn't it?

Not the ending I predicted or wanted, but it’ll do - it leaves it open for a movie or a spin off.

Chase got everyone, he went out on his terms, love it or hate it.

It follows a theme that has been there since the first show - life goes on.

Like AJ said, “Remember the good times.” With all of teh murder and death, Tony is still the family man, Carmella went right back to her houses, Meadow still can’t make up her mind, AJ is back to his old self, Paulie is a whack job but he’ll earn for Tony, as usual. Carmine and NY backed Tony, as usual. Janice lost another husband/boyfreind, and is enjoying being the victim again - and is ready to “hook another husband”.

Nothing has really changed, except for the cast. Tony is still a psychotic killer, running a crime syndicate. He still believes, and his life will go on until he dies or is killed. No big endings like in the movies, no plot twist, no hidden surprise, no machina ex deux, just another day in a mobster’s life. When you watch the rerun, look at the song titles Tony was looking at. “Magic Man”. “I gotta be me”. “Don’t stop believing”. He pulled it off, he got rid of Phil, and tomorrow is just another day.

I’m not that mad. It stands on it’s own. The final moment is sudden, but what a ride! That’s the point, the series as a whole.

I’d watch it all again.

You have the best analysis of anybody. I think you are right on. Think about it. It makes total sense.

Ranks right up there with Roseanne and Seinfeld as worst series finale ever.

No you're not the only one. I told my husband Tony was going to cut off the breathing tube. Husband said "no way"...

It entered my mind that Tony might kill him.

Could never get into this show.
I've been watching the Tony awards tonight.
Glad to see I didn't waste 9 years.

Sounds like he left a lot of cliffhangers; just in case he wants to make more money on the Sopranos in the future. He also wants as much of his audience as he can to come back in the future.

I still think the last episode of M*A*S*H was the best series finale ever, but this one was pretty good, now that I've had time to think about it. I mean, how could you end it? There's a million different ways.

“No, think about it. Tony lives the rest of his life, always looking over his shoulder, “

Tony already lived like that. Has from day one. They have to.

No, this was about, that even with all the violence and murder and loss of family, the family goes on. Tomorrow is just another day, just like all the ones before.

The real family, and the mob family.

It never really ends.

Chase turned off your (and mine) TV set right when you thought something was going to happen. Ended the whole thing right there.

HHAHAH I have to say, that was great.
