I have just gotten hooked the last couple of years. Did the early episodes always have these very liberal RAT political messages in them?! The parts of bashing Bush with the kids all the time, was quite annoying?!........

The writers for Seinfeld and the Sopranos, probably the two greatest shows ever, got their endings criss-crossed.
Seinfeld should have ended like the Sopranos where nothing happens and nothing is resolved.
Sopranos should have ended like Seinfeld in a courtroom with a resolution.
That take will be repeated everywhere over the next few weeks.
Also, this Sopranos finale was a big f-you to America/fans for two reasons.
One, this eposide shows that the rumors are true that there will be a movie.
Complete exploitation because they could have just put the movie in the final episode but chose not to. Total BS, and I for one will not see it. Second, the writers got too full of themselves and said you know what, we are the Sopranosas, we defy convention, so we don’t need a real ending. However, good stories need resolutions. The Sopranos for the prior three seasons was not good storytelling.
Nah, think about how big of a role music played in the series. Then black and no sound. Tony bit the big one and never heard it coming.

-—Seriously, Chase goes off on these little rants every once in a while. Liberal meadow has had a few in the past - The show comes to a COMPLETE halt, and we hear a character basically give a political speech “Bush is violating peoples’ rights!” “ Bus let al-qaeda go!”-—

I think only Edie Falco (Carmela) is the only vocal libtard on the program. Gandolfini has said some things he disagreed wth the President (so have 90% of conservatives too), but he has also visited our troops in Iraq, and seems to be pretty apolitical. Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts) has come out saying he’s a conservative republican. As for the show over the years, there has been both praise and crticism of President Bush on the show. I know most people, when they only hear one thing bad about the President on this show, they think that this show is just a pure Bush-bashing fest, but I have also heard some defending of the President and his policies on the show.
That and the final episode of the second Bob Newhart show. Best finales ever written.
One really poignant scene was Uncle Junior and Tony. Wow! Just realized he was acting. Dominic Chianese was terrific.

No, the show went weak against the war on Islam when AJ lost his loser “fiancee”. I can’t remember one of the lines where I think it was Paulie who buthcered Nostradamus re: the war on Islam.
I've always wondered if Alan Ball is a bit of a closet conservative. There were two eps that were stunning in thier depiction of abortion. The show always seemed to show the importance of family. They mostly made fun of Claire's "artsy" (typical liberal) friends. Even Nate, who was somewhat liberal was characterized by Brenda as somebody who always wanted people to think of him as a better person than he actually was -- which, I believe is the mindset of many, if not most liberals in the positions they take.
I am on season 3 and it was the marvelous Clinton years. Carmella loves Hillary but so far nothing about Bush. I think season 3 is early 2001? I still see the Towers in the opening song.

I’m perfectly satisfied. I *knew* there was no way that everything was going to end up neat and tidy with no unanswered questions from anyone. DC couldn’t have made everyone happy no matter what he did.
So H thinks that the family minus Meadow got killed. I think that the bathroom guy was just a last minute teaser and nothing more to do with the story than the teen couple sitting in the booth. Life goes on as usual for the Sopranos, facing a possible indictment from Carlos’ testimony but AJ getting back on track, Meadow planning a wedding and her career, the Family pulling itself together.. So we’re both ok with the end.
