That’s ridiculous. The consequences of the 2006 elections have nothing to do with the reappointment of General Pace as COS. A single Senator can stop a hearing and subesquently such an appointmment, either in Committee or on the Senate floor, if the Committee votes to send it to the floor for an up or down vote. Even if the dems were in the minority this could be done.

It seems to me that nobody is going to get approved for an appointive office by the U.S. Senate tha does not spout the line approved by the gays.
