As an undergrad, senior year, I was friends with a grad student that spent some time growing up in Pasadena, iirc.

He would tell us about all the great plans Gov. Moon Beam would have to drill holes in the mountains, and install huge fans to suck the pollution out of the LA basin, and let it drift Eastward.

My best memory of the then-governor is an editorial cartoon showing him trying to wedge his autobiography, "How I Whipped the Med Fly", in amongst Churchill's, MacArthur's, etc.
