Look at all the usual rabid Bush haters suddenly pop up on this thread and try to rationalize away their role in this mess!

And the really sick thing? No matter who the GOP nominates, they will do the exact same thing in 2008. Because NO leader will ever be able to follow their little 100%er dogma straight down the line. Elections are won by leaders best able to harness a coalition of interests, not by leaders who are fanatics about doctrinal purity.

Wonder what all the Ultra Conservatives around here would of made of a President that signed a real Illegal Alien Amnesty, 2 tax hikes, doubled Federal Spending, spent record deficits, negotiated with Iran, appointed a Liberal Judge to the Supreme Court and ran away from a Muslim Terrorist threat?

Would they be screaming "El Presidente" "Traitor" etc at him like they do at Bush?

That President was Ronald Reagan.

Being that it was Republicans who led the fight to stop Bush's Amnesty, I'm now now reducing Hillary's chances of being POTUS from 100% to a mere 80%.

(Hate it when Rushbo is ahead of me on the curve)

You should get your facts straight. I ran W's reelection GOTV effort in a swing county of about 600,000 people in 2004. I ran the same effort for the R's in 2006.

You live in a fantasy world. Anyone who cannot see that W has decided to break with conservatives is willfully blind. IMHO, the conservative base has hung with W like a battered wife, far past the point where the marriage is doomed. Hopefully that is ending and the Republican party can be resurrected in a form that lets it regain its majority. In its present chamber-of-commerce-controlled form, it will continue to lose ground.

I'm a "usual Bush hater"?? You're delusional. I invite you to come and visit me.

I can take you on a tour of the canyon behind my house. You may have seen it on TV....the Minutemen had a little confontation with police and illegals there last year.

Then, we can get on the freeway and go to the beach. It may take us awhile if an illegal decides to "run" the border and the BP have to close down the roads to chase them but we'll get there.

Next, we can visit the school I work at. Hope your Spanish is fluent so that you are able to help me teach them. At lunchtime, you can help direct the children to the cafeteria to collect their free lunches (pay no attention to the mom that is actually eating that free lunch)!

After school, we can stop at the grocery store. Now, we may have to drive around the parking lot a bit to find a parking space because a good portion of the parking lot is occupied by the illegal day workers but never you mind, just ignore them.

Just let me know when you book your flight. Too bad you didn't make it down here for Cinco de Mayo. That is such a "special" weekend and you would be able to see a good portion of the San Diego police dept. all at once...even the mounted police!

I'll be waiting for you! Can't wait to meet you!

You won’t win any arguments by being irrational.

As I said, it’s not a dualistic universe, where you either have to love Bush or hate him.

When he does the wrong thing, he either has to be persuaded that he is making a mistake, or he has to be blocked, if possible.

This isn’t just some little mistake that we can overlook for the sake of the good things he will do in the future. This is the destruction of our country, an experiment that has lasted for 230 years but cannot possibly survive the results of this bill as the country we know.

If this bill is passed, there will be no going back again, no way to undo it if it proves to be a mistake, short of civil war. I trust that none of us wants that.

Why is it you and your buddies find it necessary to trash Reagan? If you think that will improve Bush’s image or that of your favorite leftie candidate, you are sadly mistaken.

Come on Juannie,

You just can’t stand the fact that with the amnesty (twice), Miers, and the port deal we keep thwarting Jorge’s globalist liberal agenda.

I thought the American way was to strive for excellence and not mediocrity....or worse.

Yea, enforcing the law is sooooooooooo hard to run on.

You’re more pathetic than usual today.

Stop crying...ok?

It’s getting really old.
