I supported G.W. Bush for president while he was still campaigning for governor of Texas the first time.

WHATEVER IS GOING ON ON THIS WEBSITE? It is absolutely and totally nuts to compare Carter and Bush.

Ah yes incrementalism...you know I've heard that excuse for nigh on 15-16 years every time an election comes around. And you know what? It hasn't worked, it doesn't work, and it will never work. I'm tired of hearing it. And if a candidate uses it in any fashion, they're immediately off the list as viable candidates for my vote

In the past I’ve heard people say “we have to get an R elected even if he/she is liberal. We get him/her elected then we’ll change the way they think”.
I haven’t seen that work yet. Why not just elect a conservative in the first place?

Well, I happen to be one of those people. The post-war effort has been handled poorly, but the war, itself, was a great cause. I still support it 100 percent.
