“And many of our leaders either do not recognize the historically (throughout the history of mankind) unprecedented threat that this enemy poses, or they choose to minimize that threat for reasons that can only be explained under the heading of ignorance, or treason.

Our ‘leaders’ more often than not re-define or bury the truth, when it threatens to interfere with their agenda or decrease what they see as deserved power ... even when standing face-to-face with this malevolence.”

Too many would rather score their political points against Bush than honestly face the threats posed by Al Qaeda and Iran and others.

Excellent piece.

The largely hispanic invasion forces has at its disposal America’s fifth column residing in the White House, the Congress and at every cabinet level requiring ever vigilante citizen resistance.

On June 1 2001 the White House extended and invitation to the Western Growers Association in appreciation of their efforts in support of the “immigration bill”. In other words GWB acknowledged their buying power in the legislative market.

We now have to commit ourselves to stay informed about the continued efforts by this Fifth column to undermine the sovereignty of this republic.

Everyone needs to check their Senator’s and Congressman’s PR releases and schedule on a daily basis to see who can demand their attention and obedience. We, in each state need to see who is attaching riders that piece meal the components of this abomination to other bills.

And come the primaries, the electorate must be ruthless in pruning these fifth columnists from both parties. Let’s not be swayed by their cheap excuses. Their actions spoke louder than their PR effforts.

Send the SOBs home while we still can.

To be inactive at now is to assist them in laying a powder trail to an conflagration that will make CW-I seem like a playpen spat.

wow. what a wonderful piece.

one can never know warmth until he’s experienced cold, never know sweetness unless he’s tasted of bitterness, and never know freedom unless he’s tasted of tyranny.

maybe there has to be a taste of tyranny before freedom can be appreciated.

“enter elitist rule, stage left...”

elitist rule just didn’t enter. it insinuated itself through skillful propaganda and the line has been swallowed, hook, line and sinker by a large part of the populace.

the voters are going to give up their autonomy and wonder what happened to it as they intellectualize themselves into the gulag, attempting to emulate the “brilliant”, leftist/communist intellectuals who will “take care of them” and “save them” from the evil american system.

Great essay. Basically, I think we’re screwed. I don’t see the Titanic turning anytime soon, not with maniacs in the pilot house.

Excellent, Joanie. And unfortunately, you’ve nailed the current state of our country. No need for corrections, additions, etc.

Vote for Hillary, and give her as many democrats as you can in the house and senate. Only then can the real war for this nation’s soul can begin while those of us still able to remember what it should be can fight for it. People who are now uninterested will join the fray when their wallets wake em up. We need this “wallet pain” as soon as possible if the people are to be awakened in time. We need the millions and millions of us baby boomers infuriated over what will be denied us in the way of those promised social security benefits. We are among the last generation of Americans who still know what this country is supposed to be. Our children and grandchildren deserve better than the I.O.U.’s handed down to them by the monster that is our government. We who are here to fight the fight must do it while we are able. Vote her in. Otherwise, forget about it.

Thoughts on where we stand in history.

Thoughful and timely. The recent debacle of "immigration reform" revealed for all to see: that the US has devolved into a situation where an elite class has usurped the prerogatives of the people, who are the "sovereign" power under the law. We saw a bipartisan cabal of would-be oligarchs, participants from both the executive and legislative branches, who overtly scorned and sought to disregard not only the people's opinion, but the legitimacy of the people's right to express their opinion.

The concept of the Ruling Class was anathema to the Founders and should be equally repulsive today--but the people, we in our indolence, have allowed these usurpers to believe they belong to some kind of exclusive club. They even talk about the Senate as a "club," an obscenity to any right-thinking American. When Trent Lott talks about this current issue, he talks to and about other Senators and himself--not to the people or about the people's will. When "Conservative" John Kyl ignores what the people tell him, but is pleased to inform the people that "this is the best you are going to get" so swallow it, idiots like Michael Medved think he is being honest. He is not. He is playing out a role as a part of the club. The will of the people does not figure into his thinking except as an obstacle to be overcome for the benefit of his colleagues and clients, whoever they may turn out to be.

The intense grass roots reaction to the "immigration" abortion perpetrated by Kennedy and his staff(some "compromise"--another lie) may be a sign of life, and hopefully will be. It is an indication that we still have some power if we are willing to use it. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, it is said. Only now, sadder and wiser, we realize the truth that the vigilance which counts the most is against the usurpers of both parties who would scam us into subservience. We learned again that the real enemy of freedom will not come from abroad but from the headquarters and caucus rooms of our parties. The Founders knew this, and now we know it too. We cannot ever forget.
