The problem America is facing can be defined as sin. If we do not repent as a nation and experience national repentance, America will die in her sin. It’s this nations only hope at this point in history.

I can tell from the tone of your response that you place much more faith in the citizenry than I, Covenantor.

While I agree with you in what you see as our over-riding concerns, and our necessary responses to them, the proportion of Americans who will be willing to expend the time and effort to do what is necessary to keep our 'leadership' in check is ever-decreasing.

While I agree with you that CW-II appears more and more likely, as with the above considerations, those of us whose conscience will dictate our participation will also unfortunately find ourselves in a very small minority. Doesn't mean our commitment should be any less. It simply means that it won't be shared by the vast majority of our countrymen.

Good to hear from you.

The destruction of America has happened stunningly quickly, hasn't it?

Since about, oh, the 1960s?

I pretty much agree. Our lives have been too easy for too long. I’m not sure the next generation has the intellectual tools or the perspective to handle freedom. And there are fewer and fewer of us in this generation that can do it either.

I like to base my thoughts and opinions on what is right or wrong, not left or right, or Donkey or Elephant. I daresay there are times the left has a few good ideas although I generally think most good ideas come from the right. It's a shame though that the left right now is causing a ruckus because their guy isn't in power. I wish we would stop all this hate from both sides but again, it is the very left that fails or will not understand that we are fighting for our lives here. If we lose to the point where the Islamic Fascists take over, it ain't gonna matter who's pro-life or pro choice, whether we need a single payer health system or not, or whatnot.

Beautifully said.

Your Dad appears to be of much the same mind as mine was. My Dad, a World War II vet, passed away in the autumn of 2001. For the few years before his death he used to lament that he had ‘seen the best years of America’ and that she was in terrible, irrevocable societal decline. The look in his eyes was unforgettable – a mixture of deep sadness, and unbridled anger, at those within our government, media, and academia who are engineering the decline.

I used to think I understood what he meant. But only recently have I really begun to comprehend. The elitists who now run every aspect of our government are usurping our individual freedoms at every turn, and forcing us to abide by unconstitutional laws, while themselves freely breaking any legitimate law that gets in the way of their own agenda.

I pretty much agree with your historical observations, and the 200 year rule. Because of the original character of our Founders, and their unprecedented vision when they crafted the Constitution, it appears that we have survived longer than most free societies. But that doesn't make our demise any more palatable, especially to those of us who comprehend the glory that once was Western civilization.

Thanks for the kind words and excellent insights.

one can never know warmth until he’s experienced cold, never know sweetness unless he’s tasted of bitterness, and never know freedom unless he’s tasted of tyranny.

With what’s going on in this country, I do believe that Satan is alive and well, and has either served as President, or is about to, or both........

Sometimes the simplest truths are the hardest to face.

On this issue I have been surprised by the breadth and strength of the reaction against the amnesty bill here in Montgomery County Maryland in a sanctuary city. And many of the strongest reactions are from life long Dems who are power donors to their party.

It is as if a curtain has been drawn back exposing the machinery to them for the first time. A wonderful thing to behold

Their staying power on this issue remains to be proved, but even they are starting to realize that this current wave and the potential wave that would be released by the proposed “Comprehensive Plan” would tip the scale irrevocably to the ultimate destruction of this republic and the heart of western civilization.

Who was it that said, " A liberal is just a conservative that has been mugged yet".

Well, some of them are waking up after their mugging. Not conservative yet but questioning.

In closing, let me point out that the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform: thing sounds very much like the Final Solution espoused by others now in their graves.

Keep your powder dry and prayer book handy.
