precisely my question... WHO , naming NAMES, in Congress, said this!! It's time we take a MAJOR stand against Congress! We have begun a " war within our land"!!Clear up to the top!

After his blunt statements on sodomy in the ranks and then his apology, I thought he was in trouble. About a week ago, I saw on TV and I thought he looked like a goner.

Too bad. He was a good man. But professional military are supposed to be more reserved, more calculating. At the Joint Chiefs, it is primarily a political job.

Iwo Jima’s right. I defy you to prove that “Republicans stayed home”.

They hated Rumsfeld and demanded his head. Bush gave it to them. That led them to demand Gonzalez’ head, which Bush did not give them. Now they’ve thrown a shot-acoss-the bow before a confirmation hearing to intimidate a man who has done a good job and who is already up-to-speed on all that has been and is happening.

You have to understand - Rumsfeld and the present situation only affect national security. Gonzales is an ally of Bush's in something he really cares about; he wants to keep the supply of illegals flowing.

I think it was when he said homosex was immoral. They never liked him, but that’s when the target got painted on his back. This is sad like Bill Buchanan leaving 24.

And the White House refuses to fight for them.

Gates has laid down with pigs, and probably will not get up at all. We’re on our own now and we have to fight hard like we did on this amnesty bill. God help us.

I’m sure that had a lot to do with it too. It boils down to the fact that the dems on the Hill didn’t have a yes man in General Pace and with their determination to surrender to the terrorists, General pace has to go.

To be sure the bill will come up again, sooner rather than later.

Ah, yes. Good point.

As he recently demonstrated, he has no problem kicking his loyal, patriotic base in the teeth to further his “raising the southern border” pet project.

Secretary Gates said that Senators warned him that the confirmation hearings for General Pace to serve a second term would be a “very contentious process”. The RATS and RINOs on the Armed Services Committee planned to take General Pace down in the hearings.

Interesting NormsRevenge, appointing a Navy Admiral as COS in the middle of a ground war with no apparent end in sight as yet. Who will be the Vice-Chief replacement?

A senior Democratic source within the Senate Armed Services Committee confirmed to NBC that Democrats had made it clear that Pace would have been challenged.
NBC News’ Pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski said that critics were calling Gates’ announcement phase two of the administration’s attempt to clean house at the Pentagon after Donald Rumsfeld was forced to resign as defense secretary last November.

Some Pentagon and military officials have quietly criticized Pace for not standing up to Rumsfeld and being what they considered blindly supportive of the former secretary, Miklaszewski reported.

A dollar to a donut that his anti-homosexuality comment is at the center of Democrat hatred.

And he doesn’t have progress to show....because of the nature of the fight....

Gates said he also will recommend Gen. James E. Cartwright, currently the commander of the Strategic Command, as the next vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He would succeed Adm. Ed Giambastiani.
