I stopped reading in the second paragraph...just too much name-calling for me to even take this writer serious in his defense of religion.
Mike must have all his time slots are booked for the Westboro Baptist Church show! What a hypocrite!
.. but I agree with his premise..."What a nasty indictment of the culture and character of the United States 2007"...
"It's good radio"...
That's the same thing they same thing they say about Rosie O'Donell...(just heard it yesterday)
She may soon have her own show (of some sort)...because she's 'good television'....brings in the numbers and money, ya know.
Indeed, a very poor indictment of our culture and character.

...and seldom has such name calling been more appropriate...HItchens is, shall we say, somewhat less than adorable...
I would suggest Mr Gallagher not read the book. Hitchens gains support on the right for his support of the war, nothing else. In fact, Hitchen’s take on the war is in line with his anti religious book since he detests all religions equally, especially Islam.
excellent. I agree 100% regarding that loathsome toad hitchens.
Plus, like Hannity, he is at disadvantage if he attempts a battle of wits with Hitchens.
He writes a column every week in the Mail on Sunday. One his long standing swipes is that Christianity in the UK comes last with the present Government. Are you absoloutely sure this is the same guy ?
Hitchens is a bigot. But he is one of the very few equal opportunity bigots. He goes after all religions.
He forgets that state-sponsored atheism killed more people in 10 years than the Christian church killed in all of history
I’m sure I know who Gallagher is talking about here. hitchens has a brother who is also a pundit and who is apparently the polar opposite, perhaps that’s who you’re talking about.
Chris Hitchens may be a non believer and in fact hostile to religion altogether but I like him anyway. He isn’t afraid to call the left to the carpet when the deserve it and since no one is 100% perfect in their views (you can poke a hole in anyone’s logic,) I think I’ll chalk him and his opposing views up to freedom of speech and not get so bothered about it. To completely be against this guy is to not recognize he’s been a vocal critic of the left when it comes to the war on terror. As a leftie, he actually thinks the war on terror is important! I’d rather have him around than not. Plus, he’s got a great whit, even if sometimes I think he goes over the top. I happen to enjoy his commanding usage of English, too.
Forgetting that atheism killed many people is in no way “bigoted”
I doubt you are correct on that one. Hitchens believes he is correct, and if this is the case, why would he ever call for a priest?
2.
his radio show is just that transparent too.
It’s probably his brother.
No but raining hate down on Christians is bigoted. I’ve met the guy and talked to him. He talks about Christians like my dad used to talk about black people.
Here you go: Hitchens on Falwell.
