This link is to the roll call vote on the Sessions amendment which passed, which prevents the newly amnestied illegals and guest workers from getting the earned income tax credit. Thankfully, it passed 56-41 (don't assume the bill is really dead). I'm going to post the names of the Dems who voted for it and the Republicans who voted against it. The votes on this amendment give you a better idea who are hard core traitors are in our party and who the Dems are that we might be able to work with.

Dems for the amendment:

Baucus (D-MT) Bayh (D-IN) Byrd (D-WV) Dorgan (D-ND) Klobuchar (D-MN) Landrieu (D-LA) Lincoln (D-AR) McCaskill (D-MO) Nelson (D-NE) Pryor (D-AR) Rockefeller (D-WV) Stabenow (D-MI) Tester (D-MT)

Republicans against the amendment:

Brownback (R-KS) Collins (R-ME) Hagel (R-NE) Smith (R-OR) Snowe (R-ME) Specter (R-PA)

TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: illegals; immigrants; sessions

Is this the same Brownback who’s been in the debates? Am I confused or is this guy really that stupid?

“Boxer voted no?”

Is that surprising? It’s Jeff Sessions’ amendment- a solid conservative.

Baucus and Tester have been solid against this amnesty madness. Job well done!

“Baucus and Tester have been solid against this amnesty madness. Job well done!”

This is THE defining issue for me- I could care less if they have a D or R next to their name. Did they stand up for their country or did they sell it out? That’s all I care about.

Boxer might be doing this for one of several reasons.

a) - If her vote won’t make a difference, then it might give her political benefits at a later date. (i.e. - she could claim to be not wacky liberal on some things.)

b) More important, having voted the way she did, she would be able to push for a “vote to reconsider” (i.e. - try to change the results by revoting on the measure.)

So I would not read too much into her vote. She is still a nasty, idiot liberal.

Mike
