Isn’t that the truth! I was at the gas station and they flew overhead. I felt like I had a front row seat! I had tears in my eyes, it was so beautiful (in a kick @$$ sorta way ;-).
In Tucson a few years back I saw a pair of F-16s out of D-M in tight formation slide by overhead at fairly low altitude. (I was hiking in the mountains west of town) Subsonic, but very, very fast ‘cause there was no sound until they were well past. There was something eerily beautiful, graceful, yet deadly about them. I think it was the no sound part - up in the Saguaro park there was no background noise at all. I think that made them seem all the more like predators on the hunt. Set off all those long-dormant instincts. ;-)
