except that he interpreted the losses of Graf and Hayworth as “pro-immigration” votes. I don’t think that’s right, but I can see how he’d think that.

If he thought it was proper to sell out his Country because of the way people voted in other elections, he's a POS that doesn't deserve to hold any elected office. He also has shown himself to be an inveterate liar.

Enough! out!

This is starting to look like it's choreographed by Reid/McConnell! Blame each other and let it die!

Don’t write off Kyl. He made a mistake. I don’t think he’ll make any more. And to compare him in any way to McClame is wrong: Capt. Queeg was bizarre after just a few years. Kyl has been reliable.

"Amen! But be warned, they will try again. Elections have consequences, and it never should have gotten this far. "

Yup. Kick all the SOB's involved out of office...and, keep your eyes wide open...they'll be back with something else and they'll be very secret and sly with the next time.

It is not dead.

It is only delayed. They may try again.

Look for arm-twisting from the WH.

I agree. I am not convinced by all this. McConnell needs to simply say that the entire Congress needs to work on this bill not a select group and they need to start all over and shut them all up. A couple of more days will STILL not be enough to iron out the mess it is.

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/110/senate/1/votes/180/

9 Demorats and 20 Republicans voted Yes. Joe Lieberman even voted no.

I am disappointed Brownback, a man running for President, ducked the issue and did not vote, along with 4 other Senators.

Someone, please help me out too. Hussein, Hillaryious, Scary Reid, Ted 'hicup' Kennedy, Kohn Kerry and a slew of others voted no.

It's really OK that this bill is dead right? I have never agreed with this many Demorats in my life and I am really nervous about that. Someone tell me it is election season and Demorats are trying to be smart. Someone tell me that the Demorats don't like the bill for a different reason then me.

I gotta go shower.

disappointing coming from McConnell

What did you expect? McConnel's one of the biggest pro-Amnesty RINOs in the Senate. Of course he wants more time to get a deal done.

I think there is a huge difference between the two. McClame is psycho, and absolutely untrustworthy.

Could not agree more.

I'd be inclined to give Kyl a pardon, based on his performance up to this point.

McEgo gets no slack...also based on his performance up to this point.

Drudge has got a siren going now.

Yeah. Directly underneath the gargantuan Paris Hilton headshot, and the "news" that she might actually be forced to serve out her jail micro-sentence after all. Pfui.

Pull the plug then! This beast is not dead yet. Why is the "no" vote for cloture being taken as an indication of the bill dying? It is good news, but it certainly does not mean that this is over.

AND WHEN IT DIES, KILL IT AGAIN TO MAKE SURE! Two in the chest, 350 in the head (silver bullets), and launch the remains into the sun. Then I'm going to send a bag of pee up into space after it (likely within a fleet) to do justice to its final fiery resting place.

So he just continued riding the wrong horse.

He voted no on cloture so we'll see if he got the message. I hope so.

Tom, the problem is that WH cannot twist any arms because Bush has such low popularity right now. We saw in the 2006 elections how the Republicans ran away from him.
