"Though no one wants to reward illegal behavior, we must find a way for these workers to come forward, make good on the past and participate in a program that leads to permanent residency and eventual citizenship."
This is enough to make a vegetarian out of me, except for the fact that the lobbies for the dairy, fruit, and vegetable growers are on board for amnesty. Texans and others in the South and Midwest should remember that Tyson Foods and Pilgrim's Pride, large scale poultry agribusinesses, have signed on for amnesty. Consider that fact when you are shopping for chicken and pork. Tyson's Web site has corporate contact information at http://www.tyson.com/Corporate/Contact.aspx if you choose to tell them what you think about their subversion of America. Pilgrim's Pride can be contacted at http://www.pilgrimspride.com/aboutus/contactus.aspx.

They are both members of the American Meat Institute, which is the trade association (aka lobbyist) for the meatpacking industry in DC. Several hundred companies belong to the AMI, which represents their political interest in DC (such as Shamnesty).
Other members are Hormel, Cargill, Libby, etc.
When you look at that list, you are looking at the DC lobbyists. The American Home Builders Assoc. is the chief DC lobbyist for 5,000 building companies.
